Century - Pirates' Plunder.
Dark slices of kake, about 5mm thick. There's a sweet aroma, a flavouring; molasses from the rum. But, I can't detect any alcohol, just the sweetness. It crumbles easily, and is only a tad moist.
The smoke has a good flavour. I find a leading taste from the Burley and Virginia; they seem equal in volume. The Cavendish is a little toasty, sharper than usual. Any Latakia only gets noticed about halfway through, and then is more woody than smoky. The rum, just like in the unlit note, is very sweet, with hardly any caustic alcohol; this sweetness really makes the blend sing. It burns nicely, providing a cool, bite-free smoke.
Nicotine: decent. Room-note: quite nice.

Huge fan of this. Virginias and latakia to the fore, and comparable to the best of anything by Pease or Samuel Gawith. Same kind of ballpark as Star of the East, or better still, Pirate Kake, which is extremely welcome in this house. Lots of flavour!

Perfect moisture on opening my pouch on these mostly black pieces of crumble cake. Easy to load into the pipe and takes the flame well. Plenty of Latakia smokiness to start which then fades into third place behind the Virginia & Burley but is still always there. There is a sweetness and a mild rum taste throughout which is very nice mixed with the bready taste from the Virginia and the background smokiness of the Latakia. Medium bodied with under medium nicotine. A very smooth smoke that burns cool and without any harshness or tongue bite. If you fancy a sweeter American English, this should suit ! Great that Century have released this series of crumble cakes in the UK. Most of them are a hit ! 4/5 on my rating, here I give it a 3 as I feel if it had a bit more N it would achieve a 4.
