Mild Mild Mild Pleasant

This was a nice tobacco for being a non aromatic smoker. I wanted to try something different for the special occasion of st Patrick’s day. Smoking it in the new Peterson st Patrick’s day 2023 pipe 230. Pipe looks great and smokes great ! The tobacco wasn’t overly cased or topped and didnt leave my new pipe all wet and goopy. I was reluctant to smoke an aromatic out of my new pipe but I did it anyway. Tin note is very nice and smells like Irish crème and vanilla cavendish. This smoked very cool, very consistent and had a pleasant room note. The tobacco didn’t turn ashy after half the bowl like most aromatics do once the top note is burned off. It reminded me of a strong coffee with Irish crème. Definitely a good aromatic to go with coffee or a Guinness. All the way to the last puff the flavor was good and for being a special limited blend especially. You never know what you will get with these tobaccos , but in this case it was great. The smoke is quite mild , but still pleasant. There’s not much nicotine in this one and you can’t taste any natural Virginia - only notes of the topping and cavendish style tobacco. This was very different for me but it was really nice.

Mild to Medium Medium Mild to Medium Pleasant to Tolerable

The bright Virginias provide a fair amount of tart and tangy citrus, vegetative grass, sugar, mild floralness, light sour lemon and spice as the lead components. The red Virginia cavendish offers some tangy dark fruit, earth, wood, bread, mild sugar, floralness, and a pinch of spice in a secondary support role. The nutty, earthy, woody, bready burley cavendish is a step behind that. The bready, unsweetened black cavendish is mostly a flavor carrier. The rich hazelnut topping is often equalled by the deeply creamy vanilla. Their effect is a tad more than moderate. The strength and nic-hit are a couple of slots past the mild mark. The taste is in the center of mild to medium. No chance of bite or harshness. Barely has a rough note. Burns cool, clean, and slightly slow with a mostly consistent creamy sweet, fruity, nutty, lightly floral flavor that extends to the mildly lingering, pleasant after taste. The room note is a touch stronger. Barely leaves any dampness in the bowl, and requires a couple more than an average number of relights. A comfortable all day smoke. Three stars.

Mild Mild to Medium Mild to Medium Pleasant

Tin note of sugar and a caramel like vanilla hazelnut mix. Tobacco is a mix of ribbon and small course cut of reddish browns, black and a little tan. Moisture content is ok, most pipe smokers will want to dry it a bit. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is mild and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild to medium, with notes of hazelnut and vanilla. Hazelnut was prominent throughout the first 1/3 and Vanilla started strong but drifted to the background. By the end of the 2/3, Hazelnut was in the background and Vanilla was a fond memory. Taste is mild to medium and somewhat consistent, with notes of hazelnut, creamy vanilla, sugar, spices, rich, sweet toast, marshmallow, slight bitterness, savory, graham cracker, wood, acidic, a sweet vegetation and nutty background note, and a smooth retro. The three types of Cavendish are leading with Flavoring supporting. Virginia is phoning their support in. Room note is pleasant, and aftertaste is good.
