Pipe Republic Cliftonville
(3.00)
A pipe tobacco made from the best Virginia with only a small dose of Perique, and a tiny portion of "English" flavor. Somewhat sweet-scented and very mild. The Pipe Republic Blends Cliftonville Flake can be rubbed very easily, and burns so a little brisker. An ideal choice to get to know flake tobaccos.

From the tin flows a sweetish-bready smell with some floral acidity. The golden brown flake falls apart almost by itself and was therefore smoked by me only as broken flake. He may like to air a little and then burns down perfectly. In the taste sweetish, tangy tips, yet a doughy base. The floral notes appear if only in the retrohale and can hardly be defined. The Perique is truly restrained and serves more as a supporter of the Virginias. The tobacco is rather light, but should be smoked frugally. Who wants to have some variety on the Virginia front, is here in the truest sense of the word gold-right. The tension remains, how the tobacco may change with some aging.
