Pipe Republic Botany Bay
(3.50)
High-quality natural tobaccos were used for the Botany Bay Blend. Especially lovers of Virginia and Perique will appreciate this blend. The full-bodied Ready-Rubbed Virginia was completed with a considerable portion of Perique. The high-quality raw tobaccos were subjected to a long pressing, so the addition of flavors could be completely omitted. For the connoisseur a very complex and refined pleasure!

This is a standard V/P, you can find similar mixes in other brands, medium strength, nothing special treatment, as a daily I quickly ate a box, not bad!

Botany Bay is a beautiful, coarse Broken Flake. The unique aspect is the somewhat higher Perique content (10% I would estimate).
This he hides neither in scent from the can nor in the pipe.
It is easy to fill, but it is best to let the tobacco breathe a bit first. Tastewise at the beginning are first of all fruity-sour notes of Perique, which are somewhat reminiscent of a balsamic vinegar. Then a few forest herbs and tree resin join in, before the Perique becomes a bit more peppery and the Virginia then releases its sourdough on the taste buds at the end. The tobacco is strong, but not overpowering and above all never boring.
Recommended for lovers of stronger Perique tobaccos (I look here to Lauenburg or Kendal) or Virginia enthusiasts who want to bring some spice into their pipe.
