HU Tobacco Khartoum

(4.00)
The Khartoum is based on ready rubbed Virginias, Kentucky, perique, black cavendish and Havana tobaccos. Lovingly seasoned, the Khartoum convinces with strong and idiosyncratic flavors. The ethereal, spicy aroma of the Havana tobacco joins the sweet and smoky notes of the Latakia. Latakia meets Havana, a tobacco combination that will captivate experienced smokers and lovers of this tobacco genre with its range of flavors and strength of character.

I've long enjoyed English blends, they've been my favorite since I took up pipe smoking 10 years ago. This is a quality English blend with a complementary dose of cigar leaf. The smoke is characteristically English, but the cigar leaf comes through and elevates it to something a little more robust. HU does not skimp on quality, all the tobaccos are of superior quality.

The room note is surprisingly pleasant considering it contains cigar leaf. I should also note that this has a far more robust cigar flavour than Key Largo or Havana Daydream. The cigar still doesn't overwhelm the other leaves making for a phenomenal English blend, and a great choice for anyone curious about cigar leaf as a condiment.
Pipe Used: Chacom Pipe of the Year 2019 (Morta)
Age When Smoked: Fresh
