The Va is the star of the show with tastes of butter, hay, citrus, honey and sweet fruits. Then you have a spicy/sour touch underneath that gives the blend depth for contemplation. Smooth and surprisingly no bite in sight.
I can’t wait to see how it ages.
Watch City does it it again!

The matured, bright and orange ready rubbed Virginias provide an abundance of fermented tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, sugar, floralness, vegetation, sour lemon, some tangy dried dark fruit, wood, earth, honey, mild spice, and hints of acidity, peat, and smoke as the major components. The earthy, woody perique offers spice, lightly stewed plums, raisins, and figs as a condiment. The judiciously applied honey and orange dressings help harmonize the overall experience as they lightly tone down the intrinsic qualities of the varietals. The strength and taste just reach the medium threshold. The nic-hit is a notch below the overall strength level. There’s no chance of bite or harshness, and has minute rough edges. Well balanced, nuanced and deeply rich, it burns cool, clean and slightly slow with a highly consistent sweet and sour, fruity, floral, moderately spicy flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. The room note is a tad stronger. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an extra relight or two over an average number. Can be an day smoke for the veteran, and is repeatable under any circumstance. Four stars.

disclaimer: I normally don't jump on and write a review after one bowl like some of the prolific reviewers on here. Not that it is good or bad, I just don't think you can get to know a blend that fast and being first to review something is not a priority for me. That said this is a a single day, back to back bowl review because this is just that unique.
This is a one of a kind Christmas blend. i will start out by saying I am not thrilled to see the name change but good is good...and this is good. This is for real tobacco lovers, this ain't no aromatic. I don't mean to disparage aromatics, I smoke a few, but this would seriously disappoint all of my aro smoking friends. This is a VA/PER with some very light topping. This reminds me of a Cornell and Diehl Red VA mixed wit Dunhill Flake and topped with orange juice and/or simple syrup. I could walk you through the bready, grassy, toasty, cricket fart, peppery toe jam descriptors but it is basically a kick ass VA/PER with top quality red Virginia and a light topping. I loved this from first puff and ran to review it. Bravo Zulu Watch City.

Wonderfully satisfying slightly-slightly citrusy VA. Strangely, the flavor (tasty to begin with) improves as the bowl burns lower. Very decent nic-hit. Room note? Who knows - I don’t bring along a non-smoker just to tell me, and my nostrils are full of the scent anyway. Hope Ernie makes more of it soon.
