The Storyteller's Pipe M/M Log Cabin

(4.00)
A match for the original Lambert & Butler's Log Cabin blend. Quality Burleys are blended with flu-cured, red, gold, and stoved Virginias and a pinch of Black Cavendish is added for good measure. However, it's the maple flavor that takes this blend over the top. A Burley-forward aromatic

Word of advice friends …never let your toes nor your pancakes go cold, so let’s belly up to the table, for the hotcakes are steaming, and the bacon is crisping! From within the Land of the Lincoln, comes M/M Log Cabin, a savoy aromatic production crafted as a thoughtful entrepreneurial endeavor by the good folks at The Storyteller’s Pipe.

Yes, you are not mistaken, that is a direct reference to the delectable syrup of yore. This scrumptious maple embellished mélange comprises a delightful harmony of bellied Burley, assorted Virginia, and an application of modest Black Cavendish for cohesive prosperity. M/M Log Cabin presents itself as an original replication of the classic Lambert & Butler offering, a foregone mixture that totally pre-dates me, so I have no comparison just for the record. Out with the old and in with the new as they say. And I’m okay with that as the rumbling in my eager stomach never fibs.

This bulk varietal counters as a toothsome assembly of course-cut morsels and delicate ribboned strains. A charming mask of golden/brown, red, darkly stoved, and blackened bits of assorted tobaccos project an appetizing fragrance of rich creamy/seasoned maple, cocoa, soft sugar, native Burley nutwood and remote tart-grassy Virginian spice. I find that I just want to leave the pouch open to enliven my mood and bring me some soothing pleasantry.

With the smoking, the primary facet of flattering Vermont maple confection is not only toasty but entirely pleasing with its flavorsome celebration. A creamy textualization of classic golden syrupy grandeur projects with impressive consistency. This delish enticement is most comforting especially for the sweet-toothed piper.

Well-developed with a fuller medium intensity, the maple syrup embellishing is not too brash nor too meager but optimally metered for tasteful commenting. The flavor rendered imparts a tone of sugared buttery refinement and delectably colorful sweetness. A deep level of honeyed caramelization accents the profile with ambiences of wispy vanilla, cultured gingery molasses, and smoky undertones that will have you hungry to fire up the griddle in response.

M/M Log Cabin is most definitely a Burley dominant mixture and its influence pushes frontward nicely throughout the entire bowl. The base character forms as a sweeter charismatic almond nuttiness dressed neatly with a volume of dark seasoned oak. Forming a steady middle band within the taste sphere, the “Burleyed” synergy provides the chief native feature of the blend’s standing. What is more, there is some stylish bittersweet anise/licorice highlighting and a lovely abiding soured departure on the close of its flavor. On a side note, towards the end of the smoking I was registering a bit of mint and greenery taste notes that kept the whole experience lively and interesting.

With respect to the Virginian varietal’s accompaniment, these melded strains enabled additional colorization of the overall flavor. Although less significant in weight, residing on the rear and lower perimeter, the Virginia endows a tasty relishing compliment. Splendid traces of citrus sweetgrass show essentially, affected by the influence of the stoving which makes for a deeper fermented, aged character in general. Tarty lemon, floral overtones and a dainty plum-like garnishing fill the balance of the registration.

Finally, the meagered volume of Cavendish adds a little sugary zest. Fundamentally this strain performs well in propagating the fusion of varying tasted streams while smoothing any rough transitions. As the blend burns relatively cool, I surmised mechanically the Cavendish also positively impacting the overall heat that is generated. Not an overly complex mixture yet the combination of variable taste streams lends M/M Log Cabin a respectable level of nuancing and consistent savor.

An attractive aroma modeling sweet culinary baked delight acclimates itself into an alluring room presence as the blend’s remarking is extremely good-natured. Ample pillows of velvety smoke mark the natural thrust of the seasoned native varietals as they entwine with this syrupy sugared note. M/M Log Cabin is one of those combinations that would most likely be received well in general, as the alluring essence inspires a belly-warming feeling of a hardy Sunday morning breakfast cook by dear old Mom. Finally, the permanence of the smokes lingering essence sets a gratifying mood of contentment and coziness. How could you not like this is what I want to know?

Best to enjoy M/M Log Cabin with a slow controlled cadence. One, to maximize the savor and secondly the Burley can get a little bawdy if drawn too assertively. Other than that, this mix is easy on the palate and calming to the nerves as it bestows a relaxing and mellow diversion. Foreseeably an ideal specimen for aromatic and Burley lovers alike as with this one you get the best of both. Taking all things into consideration, a solid product that is competitively price, fast and friendly service, yeah, The Storyteller’s Pipe has won my business. As such, I can definitely say give it a try. In doing so you will be supporting the little guy. Remember they need us, and we need them truth be known. It’s only befitting. 3.4 pipes.
