The white and blackened burleys offer plenty of earth, wood, nuts, some sugar, and a very light ruggedness. They take a small lead. The red and bright Virginias provide some tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, earth, wood, and mild tangy dark fruit. They are supporting players. I notice the red Va. a tad more than the bright. The cocoa is more obvious than the marshmallow, and these rich toppings sublimate the tobaccos quite a bit. The strength is a couple steps past the mild mark. The taste is a notch past that, not quite reaching the center of mild to medium. The nic-hit just passes the mild threshold. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. Has very few rough notes. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent sweet, mildly nutty, fruity flavor that extends to the lightly lingering, pleasant after taste. Leaves little dampness in the bowl. Requires an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant room note. A comfortable all day smoke.
