Black and Bright is one of the best pipe tobaccos I have ever smoked. Being recommended as a legitimate successor to Black and Mild, this very aromatic tobacco is now a major player in my rotation.
Never found the 50g pouch as stated in the description, so my review is solely for the 100g tin package.
Featuring a strong and pleasant aroma right out of the can, burns very smoothly. Some care is recommended as it burns very hot. The aromatic flavour retains it's intensity during smoke and leaves a very pleasant room note.
In my experience with aromatic tobaccos, this is one of the strongest I have ever smoked. I believe that it is this feature that gives it such a full-bodied and pleasent smoking experience.
I strongly recommend this for all who enjoy Sail, Danish Black Vanilla and black cavendish tobaccos in general.
Long-term favorite, should I say, since the pouch states it was manufactured in 2002. Kept in a humid cottage I smoke it occasionally - almost annually - in the great outdoors. The granular composition of the black cavendish reminds me of Danske Club's Black Luxury, another vanilla offering I have enjoyed in the past. The acrid taste, if any, is familiar as well. Nicotine content undetected. Nice tobacco for whatever it is intended for.
I know the version manufactured by Planta of Germany. This tobacco is triply fermented and cased and has a very powerful aroma out of the tin... THe casing is very heavy and the smell is a bit overpowering... I would bet the juices for casing here are a blend of vanilla the real one plus licorice and rippended plums. The tobacco is gentle and delivers a sweet taste and smell very similar to the tin contents. It comes a bit moist out of the tin, so a bit of airing would not be a bad idea. It is a good aromtic but if smoked regularly it may make one a bit tired of it as it has a very strong characteristic. I nevertheless recommend it.
