A rather bland looking tin but what a pleasure to open. First thing you notice is the delicious rum and raisin aroma then the inviting hues of the tobacco, goden lights and deep blacks. The tobacco is fairly roughly cut and seems quite dry out of the tin compared with some.It packs beautifully and lights easily with the minimum of faff ( messing about). Room note is lovely, even my teenage step daughter who is always complaining about the tobacco smells said 'Oh that,s nice'. High praise indeed! Taste is mild but interesting enough to keep you comming back for more, in fact I find it a very satisfying smoke.I,m alternating mostly with Sam Gawiths Grousemoor at the moment and both i,m finding mild but tasty and no bite. You have to take care packing Grousemoor but the James upshall is a doddle and hardly any dottle!
