The deeply rich vanilla custard toppings greatly sublimate the tobaccos, but there are a few of latter’s aspects that you may notice. The gold Virginia cavendish offers some grass, honey, and barely any citrus. The black cavendish is sugary. The strength is mild. The nic-hit is extremely light. The taste level is a couple of steps past the center of mild to medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. You may prefer to give it a little dry time as it burns slow when you don’t. Burns cool and clean with a very consistent flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste, and room note. Leaves some moisture in the bowl if not dried. Requires some relights. An all day smoke.

I believe that this is rebadged Sutliff bulk at a tinned premium price. Nothing wrong with that but worth knowing. (Same goes for the other Cobblestone blends I believe)

Cobblestone - Vanilla Custard (Indulge).
In the Midlands, U.K., it's snowing heavily. So, I've had a day inside reading and smoking this!
Indulge...... good name! Just opening the tin reveals a blend congruent with that word! The mixture, coarse mixture, has stained the paper insert quite well. I get a creamy vanilla aroma, as would be expected. Yes, it's moist, but not horrendously.
''Full-on aromatic''. That is what we have here! Vanilla and cream are the perfect partners for a 'greedy' blend, such as this. The added flavours push the tobaccos aside for the initial smoking. After a third the tobaccos turn themselves up and come more to the front of house. What I taste is conducive to the writing on the tin; Burley and Cavendish. The sweet vanilla from the black Cavendish accompanies the toppings excellently and the Burley has enough of a 'roughness' to prevent the blend seeming too sticky. There isn't many Va nuances, to me. Maybe a subtle tartness, but nothing major. I get a good burn which delivers a cool smoke. Although quite strongly flavoured it doesn't bite; me.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: splendid.
Vanilla Custard? A four star aromatic:
Highly recommended.

Sample bag that came soft, but not overly wet and not sticky. Smells like a light vanilla pipe tobacco. Broken pieces of various size.
Packed and lite just fine.
The taste on this is as mild as they come. I’m picking up a slight vanilla, chocolate, sweet dessert type of flavor. I puffed it faster than usual and it held up well, picking up slightly more of the flavor above. None of the PG flavor. It’s very very mild. Room note I suspect is very mild. Slight aftertaste that’s ok. Washed down with coffee. Nicotine is very mild.
If you like a non intrusive mild sweet tobacco then this is it.
