Peterson - Special Reserve 2020 (Limited Edition).
Quite long, slightly coarse ribbons which are mostly light and medium brown. Black Cavendish makes up much less of the blend. It has a delicate aroma of nuts but doesn't seem inexorably cased. The moisture's good.
The smoke? Nutty and lovely! Of the tobaccos I find the Burley the most frenetic, so the almond addition plays perfectly with it! I notice a mild hay-note from the Virginia but I don't get sharp citrus or ripe fruit from it. Although not a lead player I notice a touch of vanilla from the black Cavendish. This flavour gives the smoke a comforting quality. The burn takes hardly any maintenance and gives a mid-temperature smoke. The only downside comes from a spot of bite!
Nicotine: below medium. Room-note: lovely.
Special Reserve 2020? A delicious flavour but bite removes a star! Recommended:
Three stars.
