The very floral, tart, lightly incense-like Turkish provides earth, wood, dry sourness, herbs, vegetation, smoke, and some spice as the lead component. The smoky, woody, earthy, musty sweet Cyprian Latakia is a strong supporting player. The aspects of the Virginia are grass, mild tart and tangy citrus, bread, and slight floral and spice notes in a secondary role. The Virginia and burley cavendish produces light tangy citrus, grass, bread, some nuts, earth, wood, and molasses. It takes a small lead above the other Virginia in terms of effect. The cavendish tobaccos also sport a mild cognac topping that doesn’t tone down the tobaccos much. It also tames a few of the rough edges, but not all of them. The strength and nic-hit are a step past the center of mild to medium. The taste is a slot below the medium mark. No chance of bite or harshness. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent, mildly sweet and sour, floral, campfire flavor that translates to the short lived, pleasant after taste, and a slightly stronger room note. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran.

The taste and aroma remind me of No. 400. Personally, it is one of the top strongest Wilke blends I have ever smoked, with an impressive sour, pungent taste derived from Kentucky and Oriental leaves, and sweetness from Virginia sprinkled throughout. Latakia and Cavendish are not that detectable. Overall, I have the impression that it is alternate take on No. 400. Spicy and a delightful blend for smokers who prefer Wilke BBQ taste.
