Damn.. this one is really tasty and comforting! Compared to Aged Plug #4 this one is a little more stout and full in taste, but never overwhelming and very All-day-suitable. In fact I have smoked few other blends since I first tried this.
The scent from the baggie is very tame. Very tobacco-y, only slight sweetness and a few nutty notes maybe. Inconspicuous really. Kentucky and B. Cavendish (which isn't sweet but moreso mildly creamy) are layered inbetween.
In the pipe this is a most honest smoke. It's good old tobacco taste. Pleasantly spicy, slightly sweet with a somewhat creamy texture to it. There's an everpresent nuttiness and the slightest hint of pleasant sourness. It does remind me of C&D's Pegasus blend, but less strong in nicotine and with a hint more sweetness.
This has become a favorite of mine very quickly and I'm looking forward to my next 100g plug. I'm pretty sure this will appeal to lovers of Virginias, Virginia/Burleys and Kentucky and the room note is pleasant to tobacco lovers and not obtrusive to non-smokers. Imho this performs best in a Cob! Thanks Tom, what an awesome smoke, you nailed it!
