From P&C's website: Bengal Slices White is the newest entry in the Bengal Slices line. This is a flavorful and fragrant blend of fine Virginias combined with a fair amount of rich Cyprian Latakia along with some amazing Orientals that creates an exotic flavor and amazing aroma. Using the same crumble cake format as the original, Bengal Slices White is easy to prepare, and the blend is just a touch lighter than Bengal Slices and has no top note added. The finish is so clean that this can be smoked before a meal without interfering with your ability to taste your food. If you enjoy complex Latakia blends, this is one you'll love.

The smoky, woody, earthy, sweet, moderately musty Cyprian Latakia is the lead component. The zesty smoky, woody, earthy, floral, buttery sweet and lightly sour, spicy Orientals play a strong support role, and here and there almost equal the effect of the latakia. The Orientals are a tad more noticeable, and the latakia a rung less so in this manufacture than they are in the regular Bengal Slices. The bright and red Virginias sport a bit of fermented, barbecue-like, tangy dark fruit and earth, a little slightly tart, sweet citrus and grass as they form the base for the other components. They definitely have their say in every puff as the third star in the firmament. There is no topping so you get a true tobacco taste. The strength is medium and taste level steps over that line. The nic-hit is just past the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh, but has a little of a rough edge here and there as one would expect from blends in this genre. The slices are thick, and easily broken apart to prepare to your preference. Burns cool, clean, and a little slow with a mostly consistent, fairly rich sweet and savory flavor from beginning to end. Leaves little moisture in the bowl. Requires some relights. Has a very pleasant, lingering campfire after taste and stronger room note. A lightly milder version of Bengal Slices, this production packs enough punch and depth to stand on its own while being an all day experience for many smokers.

Russ Ouellette magic again.

English crumble cake is actually thick easy to rub-out slices. Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, Virginia, no topping because not needed. Delicious.

Exceptionally balanced with no rough edges. The latakia and Orientals are of course more forward but the Virginia holds its own no doubt contributing to the overall balance, actually tastes like a tobacco that has mellowed with a lot of age even though this is a fresh tin … remarkable. Very smooth and rounded.

Taste is medium plus, strength medium to full. Nic hit may be just past medium. Moisture in tin perfect, burns to fine gray ash, no moisture. Could be a nice all day smoke.

Bengal Slices White still has the smoky campfire/BBQ taste and smell but not overwhelming. Best analogy is that instead of being right next to the campfire, it’s like you are a few steps away from the fire. Still there but the distance gives you some air. Lots of smoke, very pleasing mouth feel.

I am a fan of the original Bengal Slices (Black?) and am reluctant to say Bengal Slices White is just a lighter version. Bengal Slices Black, in addition to the Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, Virginia, has Black Cavendish, which results in a slightly heavier smoke with some sharp edges. Bengal Slices White stands on its own. A different smoke.

Absolutely no negatives to report. An exquisite companion to the original Bengal Slices. Highly recommended.

Smoked in Stanwell 407.

Opened the tin to 2 plugs that break apart very easily . Moisture is great like most Russ Ouellette blends . No drying out needed . This is just great natural tobacco here ! The orientals take the lead with the Virginias right behind . The latakia is very subtle, the way i like it .the orientals are very tasty sweet and sour and fragrant . Very minor spice notes . The Virginias add a little sweetness and dark fruit and baked bread notes . The latakia is smokey bbq . Very delicious blend and no topping needed. I do also like the bengal slices original and the topping but i like this better ! I have taken the advice of other reviewers and don’t break this up too much or it will turn to dust . I leave it in good sized chunks and tamp very lightly . Outstanding blend 4 stars . Russ , you the man !!
