Notes: From P&C's website: “When I came up with Bold Rum, I was thinking of rum flavored truffles, but I didn't want to include chocolate in the blend. So I started with naturally sweet bright Virginia, smooth white burley so it would absorb the flavorings, and soft black cavendish to keep it cool. Then I took the zestiest Jamaican rum flavor I could find and softened to edges with warm, rich vanilla. The result is flavorful and creamy with a pleasant room note. Give yourself a treat with Russ’ Bold Rum.”

The grassy, lightly citrusy Virginia takes a small lead over the nutty, earthy burley by percentage, though the burley is a tad more obvious in effect. The sugary black cavendish is in third place. The Jamaican rum is more noticeable than the vanilla topping, and both sublimate the tobaccos quite a bit. The strength is mild, while the taste is a couple of steps past that mark. The nic-hit is very low. Won’t bite or get harsh. Needs a little dry time. Burns cool and clean and slightly slow due to the moisture level, but has a consistent flavor to the finish. Requires a few relights and leaves some wetness in the bowl. Has a very pleasant after taste and room note. An all day smoke.
