Pfeifen Huber Scottish

Notes: Unorthodox composition for lovers of English blends with broken Virginia, black cavendish, Virginia, latakia and Turkish Orient. Spicy, spicy aroma with mild smoking pleasure.

The various varietals work together in near perfect harmony, making this a well balanced blend where all most all of the nuances they have to offer are present in virtually every puff. The smoky, woody, musty, earthy sweet Cyprian latakia takes a little of the lead. The dry, woody, spicy, fairly sour, floral, earthy Turkish/ Orientals are important supporting players. The Virginias provide a mild dark fruit, some citrus, a bit of earth, and a little grass as well as drop or two of honey in secondary roles. The brown sugary black cavendish is mostly in the background; just enough to notice as it adds a little smoothness to the mix. The strength is just past the center of mild to medium, while the taste is a half step past that mark. The nic-hit is in the center of mild to medium. No chance of bite or harshness, and has no dull moments. Burns cool and clean at a moderate pace with a very consistent, complex, mildly sweet and lightly creamy, mildly savory flavor from start to finish. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. The pleasant after taste lightly lingers. Can be an all day smoke with ease. I suggest a wide bowl to fully capture the experience. Three and a half stars.
