Motzek Twist & Sea

(3.00)
The tobacco leaves used for the "aged"series must be matured for 3-5 years. Afterwards they are soused in juices made from herbs, and then they are rolled or pressed for another half year. Every month finest tobaccos (100% Virginias) are spun from hand in small batches to prepare the next batch.
Notes: Inside the bags there are soused rose petals which can be packed along with the tobacco itself.

Guys this is one of the best virginia on the planet.

The Virginia is sweet, the smoke it produces is dense and creamy. This is the tobacco that surprised me the most, there is a WOW effect on each smoke.

I will have to get. more of this and cellar it, I have never tried anything similar.

The twists are densely packed and very greasy. When you cut it, you will see the knife blade getting greasy and dark, this is just to let you understand how juicy those twists are.

You have to let the slices dry a few minutes as they are quite moist, but nothing serious. Than, enjoy it. It gave me great smokes on any pipe but I loved it in chimneys. It start sweet and than is a crescendo, it gets sweeter and better, the tongue start tickling by how dense the smoke is.

This is an unbelievable tobacco, you cannot miss it if you like virginias.

As for the flavoring, the rose added to the packaging is just for presentation, it is not a flavored tobacco. They say that you can add them in the bowl if you like as that is the tradition of pipe smokers in Kiel but you are totally fine by not doing it.

Again, this is a GREAT VIRGINIA.

The various fermented Virginias offer some tart and tangy citrus, earth, wood, bread, grass, vegetation, floralness, mild tangy dark fruit, sugar, and light spice, sour lemon, cedar, honey and acidic notes. At the beginning, all of these aspects are greatly sublimated by the herbs that they were soaked in (as described by the blender himself), and by the floral, scented rose petals as well. They weaken some by the half way mark, and then you’ll get more of the tobaccos aspects I previously mentioned. The strength and nic-hit are a step short of the center of medium to strong, and weakens a slot by the last third of the bowl. The taste starts at just past that center until the last third of the bowl, where it loses a couple of notches of potency. No chance of bite or harshness. Has a few rough edges. The ropes don’t take a lot of effort to cut as long as you have a sharp knife. I suggest a little dry time and a loose pack. Burns cool, clean and slow with an inconsistent sweet, slightly spicy, rather floral flavor that extends to the pleasantly lingering after taste. Leaves little moisture in the bowl if given dry time. Won’t goop under any circumstances. Requires a fair number of relights. The room note is a tad more pungent than the after taste. It’s not an all day smoke, but it is repeatable despite its inherent strength. Two and a half stars.
