Bright, matured Virginias, fine Turkish Oriental, harmonized with best latakia and some English cavendish. Expect a classic, English recipe of tradition, which will not only appeal to you in the "early morning".
Due to the name and description "not only appelals in the 'early morning'..." I suppose this is intended to be a blend like Dunhills Early Morning Pipe! And indeed it is of the very same style as EMP is.
The unburnt aroma is spicy, buttery and creamy, slightly sweet. The Orientals are easily noticeable, and the Latakia's presence is mild. The scent is quite similar to EMP, but there's a tad less black ribbons (Latakia) present than in the EMP mixture.
I find Morning 1975 of very similar style as EMP is and they share quite some similarities, yet the two being somewhat different! 1975 is more Oriental-forward, and the Orientals are rich in flavours, but both blends have a nice creamy, buttery-sweet tone to it. Flavours of rich spice, etherealness, hints of nuts and some decent woodsy smokiness dominate its taste with some hits of sweetness, when the cavendish is smoldering.
Great smoke, and this may replace EMP in my selection once the Dunhill blends are no longer in production...a worthy replacement to me! Not exactly the same smoke, but definetly of the same kind, whilst 1975 is a tad stronger then EMP. And the price point of 12,50€ for 100g (whilst EMP is 13,60 for 50g) is a bonus to me.
Morning 1975 is an English Mixture containing high amounts of VA and Orients and just small shares of Lata and BC - an easy smoke that suggests similarity to Dunhills EMP not only by its name.
Look in pouch is a nice mix of red-golden and brown leafs with black ribbons here and there. Cold smell is sweet, bready with hints of spice but very decent over all. Packs well and burns just outstanding - as expected.
From the first lighting there's sweetness from the VA and Orients with nice but very decent spices on top. Delightful sweet Pepper and a nutty, creamy smoke leads the field with a slightly; half sweet half sour; undertone coming from the Cavendish. Also some citric notes show up from time to time. Could be a bit more of Latakia in this one IMO. Sweet until the end with hardly any ashes left inside the bowl.
This tobacco delivers what one expects of a morning smoke. Mild spices carried by sweet matured VA. I'd call it a very very mild English blend. Perfect Mixture for novices as well as the experienced smokers. The room note is very pleasant for an English and pricing is amazing.
