Notes: River Plug is a pressed blend containing dark fired Virginias, latakia, Orientals and perique. The Virginias are matured with a special cider vinegar, which gives the tobacco a remarkable "ketchup/tomato" aroma. After the Virginias have matured for a week they are blended together with the other tobaccos, pressed to a "cake" for 2-3 weeks and then cut into plugs. We will not hide the fact that the famous American tobacco Mississippi River was an inspiration for this tobacco. The tobacco is developed by The Danish Pipe Shop in cooperation with master blender Lasse Berg from My Own Blend and he almost killed us after numerous tests!

It’s inspired by famous Mississipi river. Unfortunatelly, I can’t compare, but I can say this blend is fantastic!
The latakia and perigue plays nicely together, highly recomended ! So, if you virgnia guy and looking for kinda English experience go for it!

River Plug has most of the elements that I enjoy in a superior blend, with none of the common drawbacks. First of all, it's a pressed tobacco that crumbles like a good crumble cake should. The tin aroma has fruit and jam scents, along with other lower range scents to balance the mixture. Balance is the key with RP...it does a great job of not overplaying any one component. It's easy to pack and lights quickly. Even the fussiest people in my life enjoy the room scent of River Plug. It's like having a mild aromatic in the room that tastes like a full-flavored Virginia mixture. There's not a hint of tongue bite and it smokes down to a grey ash each time. I am a big fan of this tobacco...hope you enjoy it as well.
