The base of the blend is several burleys which offer a bit of earth, some nuttiness, molasses, toast, wood, a couple pinches of spice, and a dry, sharp note. The bright Virginias provide some tangy citrus and grass as a supporting player. The darker Virginia has a little dark fruit and earth as a condiment. The strength and nic-hit are a step past the mild level while the taste is a hair short of the center of mild to medium. If there was a topping, it’s diminished, but it is likely responsible for the very slight sugariness. Won’t bite, but fast puffing can tingle the tongue. Burns a little quickly, but clean with a sweet and savory flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant, short lived after taste. An all day smoke.
