The smoky, woody, leathery, wine-like Syrian latakia is the main component in this well balanced blend. The very spicy, raisiny, plummy perique is a supporting player. The earthy, tangy ripe dark fruity dark brown Virginia also provides a few grass and citrus notes in a secondary role. The strength and taste levels start out being a tad closer to mild than they are to medium, but both gather a little strength as you go along. The strength falls just short of the medium threshold while the taste passes that mark by a couple of steps. The nic-hit is in the center of mild to medium. You may experience some tongue tingle from the perique if you puff fast, so I recommend a slow cadence. Burns slightly warm and clean at a reasonable pace with a mostly consistent, rich flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little moisture in the bowl and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasantly lingering spicy, sweet camp fire after taste and room note. Not quite an all day smoke. Three and a half stars.
