Motzek Warp 17/12

(2.00)
A Virginia/Perique (25%) mixture with a touch of Kentucky. Perique fans love the lively, fruity spice if its - like in this blend - blended to perfection with matured Virginias, full bodied Kentucky to create a mixture with smooth power and deep aromas. American Matured Style.

A wonderful blend, my most favorite Va/Per/Ky at the moment and the best of the three Va/Per/Ky blends Motzek does offer atm. Others being "VP Plug No.3" and "Sailing City". Sailing City being closest flavor-wise tho.

Just as Sailing City, this comes in a partly very coarse ribbon cut, with corn-flake-ish pieces of bright Virginias, intense brown ribbons and few black-ish Perique parts in it.

The unburnt scent is heavenly, really...Solid Va/Per body with a nutty-sweet Kentucky dimension to it. Fruits, citrus, pepper, sweet nuts (walnut-ish)...insanely good aroma.

Putting Warp 17/12 in your pipe WARPS YOU into another sphere...pipeline to pipe tobacco heaven! Delicate nuts (a bit walnut-ish), some earth and wood from the Kentucky melt with some stoved-fruits, a touch of citrus and decent pepper aroma from the matured Virginias and Perique in it.. Buttery, creamy, rich. The Virginias are well matured, and have a intense, sweet, a tad bready and rich aroma.

This leaves a most pleasant aftertaste of sweet nuts and fruits in your mouth...makes me crave for more instantly...I caught myself trying to get a few more puffs out of the finished bowl, because I wanted more of this flavor. The room note is also pleasant, of spicy-sweetness and typical pipe-tobacco aroma.

Best to be enjoyed in a wide diametered bowl, due to the cut I dedicated a wide-bowled Danske Club to this one. The wide cut makes for a even, slow and very cool burn.

This is somewhere betwee VP Plug No.3 and Sailing City, taste-wise. But for me it's the icing on the cake...this is THE Va/Per/Ky (aka Trinity of Pipe Tobaccos) blend to me. Just the right ratio of all three ingridients to make it sweet, fruity, but also nutty and earthy with some spicy boldness to it.

A must try for lovers of Kentucky, Va/Pers and Va/Per/Ky blends...4/4 stars, favorite...no...all time favorite! Chapeau.. this is some fine weed!

**Update:** After having this blend stored for several months in a mason jar the flavor(s)/flavor profile has dramatically changed, if not to say: The flavors are lost! (This one has this odd fructouse-ish sweetness, that drowns all the other flavors) I've noticed the same phenomenon (that quite baffles me..) with several other Motzek/TAK blends. A pity, as I have 200-400g of several TAK-Blends jarred up.. half of which I had to dump in the trash, as they taste totally different.. some of them are fructous-ish sweet, nothing else.. some have lost their flavors and are "flat"... some turned sour... sorry, but I'll have to downrate and recommend: If you smoke this within a short period of time (1-4 months) this is just fine and a wonderful Burley Cake that lacks competition in Germany imho.... but sadly this 'flaw', the loss/dramatically change of aroma/flavors foreces me to downrate..
