Mild Medium Mild Pleasant

Cult - Profile.

Despite the description it's actually a mixture comprised of medium and light browns, mine includes only a tiny amount of black pieces. In the unlit aroma the vanilla's a more than sure addition. It's been well rubbed and is void of any sticks/twigs. I can't fault my moisture.

The smoke seems to be more of a Cavendish processed Virginia than anything else. Light Cavendish with a topping. At first I couldn't identify anything other than the vanilla where extra flavours are concerned but as it burned an extra sweetness developed, not just honey-sweetness from the Cav': caramel. Profile gives a good burn and a cool smoke. I've smoked numerous bowls today all without a bite.

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

Cult Profile? Four stars:

Highly recommended.

Tin note is one of honey, vanilla, and clover. The room note is good. The taste is on average about par for an average aromatic blend. it does smoke cool and I might buy it again. Like I said it's average on taste.

Mild Medium Very Mild Pleasant to Tolerable

I bought this one strictly for the great tin artwork and had no expectations going in, but came across something unusual... You could stuff your pillow with this tobacco! Texturally it is the softest thing I have ever dipped my fingers into (add crass joke here). The tin gave off a slightly sour smell causing me to do a double take, thinking this Aromatic was a straight Virginia. Vanilla it was not, it's dusty sweetness had an almost perfumy antique store mustiness.

The other enigma was where they hid Black Cavendish, as the contents was uniformly light brown. Perhaps whatever topped it, striped the color, as well as made it soft.

The product lit expectantly well, since it had the density of insulation. The taste was flat and gross, almost bitter. Probably one of the nastier "vanillas" out there. Who knows, they may of added so much nonsense to it, one flavor just canceled another for my taste buds.

Mild Mild Medium Very Pleasant

This blend was all light brown tobacco. Moisture level about perfect. Average number of relights. No nicotine or tongue bite. I liked this and would order again. That said, I couldn't pinpoint any particular flavor. Just tobacco, with a sweet mild taste. And that's just fine. I opened the tin, and smoked it all within a month. If you say that you don't like aromatics, you owe it to yourself to try Profile. 3.5 stars. EDIT: So, I enjoyed this so much I decided to get more. Only to find out that it's been discontinued :-(

Mild Mild Mild Pleasant

This is an excellent beginner pipe tobacco, and dare I say one that experienced pipe smokers can still enjoy.

Easy to smoke, tastes great and is rather light on the palate if you smoke it slower. This will cause bite if you go too fast. Let it dry a little and then enjoy with a slow cadence.

I don’t know that I can say it’s one sweet flavor or another, but, definitely sweet. I’ve been through about 5 tins of this and I keep buying it. The mild flavor does allow for a tobacco taste, but if you want to be wowed by flavor - this isn’t your tobacco. But, again, if you are new to the pipe world - this is a great tasting blend and also one that will allow you to hone your craft in smoking. Learn to be gentle with this - and you’ll discover a diverse world of tobaccos ahead with any blend you smoke. Perhaps this is a great training tobacco.

I still like it and call it’s number on occasion. There is something about it that draws me back in, faint as it may be. Perhaps it’s because I got into this blend early when venturing into pipes and it’s a walk down memory lane? I can’t lie - I have several tins in the cellar. Love the art on the tin and still appreciate this one as it represents an entry point for me to the wonderful world of piping. This one is especially good in a cob.

Just so you know where I'm coming from, I am a Virginia smoker that occasionally ventures into the aromatic world. I am not a regular aromatic smoker. This tobacco is worth it's price just for the tin note. Open the tin and you get a very nice scent that has a vanilla alcohol aroma that is intoxicating. It doesn't come through when smoking but the tin note is really nice. Smoking is another story. I found this to be quite bland and the vanilla just does not come through. No bite. No heat. Just kind of a bland, shoulder-shrug type of smoke that I can't really complain about and can't really praise. Maybe a new pipe smoker would enjoy it since it is quite mild and after an hour of drying, lights well and stays lit with few relights. I tried it in many different pipes from cobs to favorite high end, well broken in pipes.
