Joining a number of P&C classics like Butternut Burley and Trout Stream comes our latest and greatest aromatic, Scotty's Bass Pond. We started with a toasted black cavendish made of premium quality Green River burley. This tobacco is then steamed and infused with rich caramel and vanilla notes along with cherry and dark fruit. The result is a bite-free, exceptionally slow-smoking black cavendish with plenty of smooth flavor, and an incredible room note that everyone will love.
Best in Series - At first glance, this appears to be a run-of-the-mill black cavendish. But oh it is so much more! When I opened the bag, I was met with a wonderful caramel/vanilla scent. Once lit, I found the same caramel/vanilla taste with a dash of fruit - all the way to the bottom of the bowl. As I smoked it the taste pleasantly changed, making it even more enjoyable. The room note was no disappointment either. No nasty aftertaste. Russ hit this one out of the park!
One of my favorite aromatics, I am not a big fan of aro's by any means but when someone ask for a flavorful tobacco? This is what I suggest. Scottys bass pond. YUMTOWN

When I'm in the mood for a 'proper' aromatic this ticks all the right boxes!
The bag note's sweet, and there's a hint of cherries. The moisture was a little high, at first, but to be fair that's no surprise from an aromatic. Also because it was excellently rolled in the pouch by Tobaccopipes.com; they always supply bulk blends in this great way to 'preserve' freshness.
The smoke? Very decadent! The caramel and vanilla take the lead where the added flavours are concerned, taming any sharpness that often arises from cherries. Because of this I find the cherries fragrant and aromatic rather than acrid. To me the Cavendish is rich, yet slightly 'dry' tasting, so this slightly diminishes any stickiness from the toppings. I get an impeccably cool smoke, from a steady burn. Tongue bite doesn't occur.
Ok, let me first start off by saying this blend technically delivers, so take my review into consideration. My reviews are more of a personal database to keep track of my thoughts on blends I've tried so I can check back later and see what I thought.
On to the review! Bass Pond smells great, almost tropical, and it tastes exactly like it smells. So what's my gripe with it? It's just really boring. It's the same exact one flavor over and over again. It was one of the first blends I got bored of before I even got halfway through the bowl.
I would describe the pouch note as cherry-vanilla and amazing.
For me this tobacco tastes like a Cherry Dreamsicle. The caramel and vanilla take the edge off of the cherry and boy is it good! Without a doubt this is my favorite cherry flavored tobacco.
Pressure steamed until black all the while being infused with flavor as is the Danish method. This tobacco is a little sticky, as flavored Cavendishes usually are, but smokes very well. I didn't have to do any re-lights nor did I have any pipe gurgle, indicating the moisture is spot on.
If you're in the mood for a dessert tobacco with cherry flavor, this is a good one to try.
