1776 Tobacco Co Vermont Maple

(3.33)
A very nice blend with cube cut burley, mixed cuts of Virginia and burley and a touch of cigar leaf all cased with maple and Madagascar vanilla. You will love it.

The grassy, citrusy Virginias forms the base of the blend, though there seems to be a very small amount of a darker Virginia as I detect a dark fruit note. The nutty, earthy, woody burley has a very mild touch of toast and some molasses in a support role. The woody, earthy, slightly floral and vegetative, leathery, semi-sweet cigar leaf plays a little above being “a touch” of it as the company description claims, and serve as an important background player in every puff. The maple topping has a slight richness as does the Madagascar vanilla, which serves a secondary role in regard to their applications. They do tone down the tobaccos a bit, though I regard them as team players. The strength level is a step past mild, and the taste is a tad shy of the center of mild to medium. Has a slightly more than mild nic-hit. It does have a hint of a rough edge here and there, and may nip the tongue of a fast puffer, so I recommend a sipping pace. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable pace with a fairly complex, mostly consistent flavor. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasant after taste, and can be an all day smoke.

This formulation enhances the taste of coffee on the side. More so than normal, a near synergy. Maple presence is dialed in just right and does not wear out its welcome. Top notch, straight ahead blend that evokes the fabled 'Glory Days'. Nic there, but like the other components here it all makes one satisfying smoke in its expert compilation.

I bought this because I like maple and I wasn't let down. The maple started out just sweet enough without being overpowering and while I smoked it the maple flavor started to have a "toasted" quality to it.. Once again Jack hit it out of the park for me!
