The pipe tobacco with the unique aroma. A blend of well matured Virginia and toasted burley tobaccos with undertones of blossom fruit and other fragrant flavours. The blend is pressed into cakes and rubbed up which enhances the natural aroma of the tobacco.
Notes: Due to EU regulations, this is renamed and sold in those countries as "Burgundy".
The Clan (green pouch, this one is red instead) is something almost unknown to me, so every comparison is simply impossible.
It comes in a sealed aluminium foil pouch. The pouch aroma is something I associated with the dutch regulars of old, something winey, flowery and with a trace of tonka bean. Humidity is just perfect for smoking. Takes the flame very easily, and burns smooth and steady. The smoke is not hot nor bitey. The flavour is just tobacco with a very mild sweetness and fruitness. Just too mild for this smoker.
In my mind the blend coming closer to this is the Troost Aromatic, just less... aromatic.
I've experimented some boosting by some 20% of Brown # 4 and... guys: it works very fine. Clan Full Aroma is a more than decent Cavendish, working well as a base for an all-day homemade blend.
