Sometimes, simple and subtle are better, and Cult Anonymous is a perfect example. Rather than the typical melange of different tobaccos with an over the top amount of flavoring, Anonymous is made of nothing but high quality, sweet, golden flue cured tobaccos with a light and enjoyable hint of vanilla. If you want a gentle aromatic with a great room note that's light enough to enjoy all day, Cult Anonymous is your best bet.

Cult - Anonymous.

There's a few chunkier ribbons but the most of it's virtually a shag cut. The hydration's smack on, and the tin-note's quite sweet.

The vanilla's notable, albeit, not miles ahead of the honey from the Virginia Cavendish. Apart from the honey the tobacco gives a sharp, fresh, crisp Virginia flavour: citrus and grass, not plums and dough. Anon' burns well, being fairly cool and independent. My only real quibble is with tongue bite, so I sip it slowly.

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

Cult Anonymous? A good smoke but not spectacular. Two stars:

Somewhat recommended.

Anonymous lives up to the Cult name. A straight Virginia blend that is a pleasure to smoke. Probably the best straight Virginia I have smoked to date. No harshness and a consistent and mildly complex taste. and I didn't really taste the casing on the tobacco, but this has an outstanding room note. The moisture level was right for smoking out of the can and the tobacco burned well to the bottom of the bowl.

Mild Very Mild Medium to Full Pleasant

Took an aggressive true light to get the bowl rolling but was surprised by the rich white smoke it produced. The initial notes was of honey and a light nuttiness which I relate to macadamia. Room note is pleasant with warm vanilla in the forefront. Didn't get the taste of vanilla until after a relight, but when it appeared it was creamy like the aftertaste of a vanilla latte. I really appreciate the topping being mild here as you can still occasionally taste some of the citrus of the Virginia and some almost pine like acidity. A balanced aro which doesn't leave a syrupy artificial aftertaste. Would recommend as a great upgrade from your typical vanilla aromatic experience. 3 stars

Mild Medium to Strong Mild Pleasant

Good spring time or early fall Blend. Light topping akin to Luxury Twist Flake. Vanilla but with a noticeable Virginia presence that lends itself to a mellow honey flavor to compliment the vanilla.

I would recommend this to beginning pipe smokers for it’s fine cut and therefore easy burning characteristics, light topping with true tobacco flavor underneath. I would also recommend to those who enjoy light hay like Virginia’s in mixed company or big fans of Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake.

I wouldn’t buy this for myself as I received a tin as a gift. It’s pretty standard fare for STG in terms of cut and topping which is good quality and consistent. Just not my first choice when it comes to tobacco but it has its rightful place. I will say it’s wonderful with coffee and cream.

This one was not what I expected. From the description I only a light touch of vanilla in this tobacco. When I opened the tin I was blow away, there was a hint of vanilla, but also honey and clove, with some buttery caramel notes in the aftertaste. On the retrohale there was a vanilla nuttiness that left no burn or bite. A very luxurious experience, this could easily be an all day smoke.

I just finished a tin of this, and I have to say that it is a fair offering from the folks over at Cult. Its a very simple blend, with very little in the way of added flavoring or casing. You really have to sip this slow and cool to get even the barest hint of the flavoring. When you do you're gifted with a gentle hint of honey and vanilla. If you're looking for a light virginia blend you can smoke all day, then this is for you. I personally wasn't wowed by this one and I don't think I'll be purchasing any tins of it in the future.

If there is one thing that stood out to me about the tin I bought it is that it was lousy with stems! I've never had a tin with so many stems in it. Every time I packed a bowl of this I would inevitably chuck two or three stems into the ashtray.
