The dark brown burley is nutty, a bit earthy with some toast, dry, sour wood along with a little molasses and cocoa. The gold Virginia offers some floral grass/hay, citrus, toast, and a hint of spice. The combination seems to provide a very mild cigar note as well. You’ll notice the majority of these characteristics in most puffs. The strength, taste, and nic-hit are a little past the mild threshold in the first quarter of the bowl, though they gain strength as you along, and get close to medium by the half way point. The nic-hit is a little less potent than the other two aforementioned aspects. Won’t bite and has no harsh notes, though if you puff like a freight train, you will experience a very light cigarette note, which sometimes happens with this type of blend. Burns a little fast with a cool, clean and fairly smooth, consistent flavor. Requires very few relights, and leaves almost no moisture in the bowl. Will burn to the final strands. Has a pleasant after taste, though the room note is stronger than expected. An uncomplicated all day work and play smoke with some depth.

This is a mostly short narrow ribbon of tan and light brown tobaccos. It came at a good level of hydration for me.

Smoked, it reminded me of Pegasus with a slightly bitter edge. It is burley forward with an earthy flavor. It has a little more tobacco flavor and just a little more strength than Pegasus. After the second bowl before breakfast, it gave me the hiccups, so maybe it is really a med-strong. The Virginia provides some grass.

This is a very pleasant "all-day" smoke with a little more nicotine than most. It is the sort of thing I could smoke all day, and if I had three cases of it on that "desert island," I would be grateful. It is easy to recommend as a solid smoke that satisfies. It does not provide much "wow."

I am not a regular pipe smoker but I found this blend to be so relaxing to smoke. Its a nice balanced all day smoke, not too sweet or harsh and doesn't dampen the bowl. The prices of the blend is respectable. Your money is worth it for the pleasure you get out of smoking this tobacco. They are a relatively new company, This blend is a very good alternative to cigarette tobacco, despite the fact that it is not as easy to get. I will be buying again.
