Long gone but greatly appreciated when it was around, Cholmondley that I smoked came from an old 1960s cutter top. Loaded to the hilt with fine and flavorful Orientals (including my favorite, Smyrna), this tobacco was stronger than most Oriental forward blends and man, was it ever smooth. I can see where this was quite different (and perhaps why it was so appreciated), than most blends of the period.
