James Barber - Bourbon.
The pouch looks as though it contains 100% Black Cavendish. And, to make a nice change for an aromatic, it's not wet: mine was from a fresh pouch and could be smoked immediately.
Very often, I can't stand whiskey/bourbon blends. They just seem too strongly flavoured, a little acrid, and just unpleasant to my palate. This on the other hand is a little different: yes, the bourbon can be noticed, but it enhances the flavour profile rather than dominating it.
The tobacco that's been used is of a very high quality: it burns very cool, has a brilliantly soft flavour, and doesn't bite. As it's a Black Cav', the nicotine's exceptionally mild; I wouldn't expect anything different though!
For a whisky aromatic this is good. When I lit my first bowl I was quite impressed, but after piping it for awhile I started to become a bit bored:
Two stars.
