There may be some vanilla from the black cavendish, but I think it’s unsweetened except for a brown sugariness. The black cherry topping dominates, and is aided and abetted by a mild caramel vanilla as a secondary supporter. No chemical notes to be found. Has virtually no nicotine. A moist tobacco, but needs no dry time as it burns at a reasonable pace, cool, clean, creamy smooth with a rich, consistent flavor from start to finish. Won’t bite even if pushed. leaves a little moisture in the bowl, but no goop or dottle. Has a very pleasant after taste and room note. A very easy going all day smoke that won’t burn you out in repeat performances.

This tobacco is absolutely delicious. You couldn’t make it bite if you tried. Room note is perfect. Did require one relight. Unapologetically aromatic, but not overpowering. Just a perfect tobacco all around.

Arriving from the best seat occupying the summit of Capitol Hill, a smokable proposal crafted with conciliatory legislative appeasement, is one from the obliging coffers of the undeniably amazing Russ Ouellette. This darkened treatise of honest Black Cavendish, honest being the optimum reference mind you, brings to the floor a smart bill for aromatically spirited excess. Within this enacted recipe, one will discover a tobacco neatly embellished with the blended excellence of delectable stately and righteous caramel, diplomatic yet ambitious black cherry, and a bi-partisan supportive whisper of cajoling vanilla. Okay, cheesy metaphors all be it.

Bulk packaged, Nation’s Capital presents a coarse mixed cut offering that is exceptionally moist and treacly in attendance. With that, you can definitely smoke the tobacco as is, however, my repeated trials support the benefit of some extended drying time, and I do mean extended. Yet here is an odd discovery on my part. Post the set-up operation, I found the actual flavorsomeness to be slightly enhanced, which makes little sense assuming the migration of coatings that typically transpires. Naturally, the consistency of the burn showed marked improvement, nonetheless.

A simple recipe at that, Nation’s Capital definitely favors the prominence of the associated coatings which was confirmed by the succeeding pouch aroma. Extending all the best pleasantries, the tobacco projects a perfumed identity flushed of a minor cherry tartness that congenially melds with the more dominant sweet fragrance of rich caramel trimmed with completing vanilla. Still, there is unmistakable evidence of a distinct cocoa/chocolatey element that accents the aforementioned. Overall, its general nosed essence is finished with a basic earthiness along with fleeting notes of removed sourness and the latent remarking of nutwood.

With the tasting of this admixture, you are greeted with a calm smoke that is lighter in body and impactive magnitude. Being of categorically mild to medium flavored intensity, this blend is actually quite pleasing and comfortably likeable. Essentially, the encounter discloses a profile that is earmarked by the grandeur of sugary warm natured caramel, which does prevail more strongly on the whole.

Structurally defining the base flavor, the leading candied caramel note combines with the featured and less forceful cherry stream to form the forward taste presentation. For the attending vanilla, it tends to provide a quiet polishing garnishment. In terms of more detail, the black cherry nuance affords the smoker the impression of darker sweet, fruited tartness that is sapid in nature, while the vanilla adds just a bit of a milky sweet cream undertone. And in skirting the color of the leading coatings dependent character, the registration does reveal a buttery node of minor golden honey affluence decorating the trailing highlight.

Cavendish being cavendish there is nothing too eventful that is witnessed in the smoking. The strain does show a face of respectable brown sugared nuttiness entwined with a toasty natural chord of wood, which is perceived as earthy in mood and textural rendering. This native-based notation is painted affectionately with a marginal greenish sourness and lighter herbal spicing. Overall the Cavendish influence merely holds on to the coattails of the encouraged additives bottom-line. It is worth noting that, in general, the described composite of the blend’s standard flavor does hold true integrity until the closure of the bowled session. Genuinely, what is not to like about a reassuring caramel-cherry-vanilla combo?

As the tobacco emits a notable volume of thick concentrated Cavendish smokiness, the immediate room is filled with an eased aroma modeling evidence of sweetened tart, candied sugary nuttiness and a tad of herby earthen depth. There is absolutely no question that this blend is polite and gracious with a humbled and considerate standing presence. Like the experienced flavor, appreciably, Nation’s Capital’s standard fragrance summarizes as both alluring and decidedly relaxing. Being well received by the subject piper alone, this tobacco’s projection is doubtlessly very pleasant in its good-natured personalization for all others.

In regard to mechanical performance, Nation’s Capital does exhibit reasonably consistent burn characteristics given the quoted modification of its pouched moisture level. With that, the tobacco charts along at moderately cool temperatures demonstrating a stable flamed cone. Smoked with a briar or a cob, the blend tends to perform well. Each venue nevertheless brings its own respective experience as different subtleties of the taste nuances encounter with crisp clearness. In particular, I sensed that the individualized black cherry ambience was a little more forthright through the use of the briar.

Finally on a negligible footnote, I did experience an occurrence of a modest degree of mid-tongue thickening and chafing agitation of the rear upper palate when my drawls were of a too eager cadence. Hey dummy, do not do that right? Furthermore, the tobacco does tend to leave the sensation of dryness and chemically induced parching upon the surface of the lips, but not so much so as to be a strong negative deterrent. Imparting minimal nicotine influence, this Ouelette blend complies with all the necessary conditions to make it a practical day-long option for those who thoroughly enjoy a quality aromatic. Nation’s Capital a nicely designed and well-prepared product that shines beyond any slanted associations one might stupidly draw in relation to its very namesake, present company included. Commendable effort here Russ. 3.2 Pipes.
