Mike & Russ: The Mind Meld Caramel Nut
(3.00)
Mike McNiel and Russ Ouellette are both fans of the warm, sweet flavor of caramel. Mike & Russ - The Mind Meld Aromatic Caramel Nut combines the richness of caramel with a mellow nutty note and applies it to a mixture of soft black Cavendish and sun-ripened Virginias. During the development of the blend, it was frequently enjoyed in our offices, and just about everyone commented that the aroma was good enough to eat. Even though the room note is pleasantly fragrant, the flavor is a bit more subtle and mellow, making Caramel Nut a great candidate for an all-day blend.

You can eat this stuff, right? Because I never smelled something so sweet and delicious before in all my life (OK that may be a stretch, but still). I'd swear it was made of some high power milk chocolate , and yup, there is some gooey caramel there to. The black Cavendish lends itself to sweet toppings, the one or two Virginia flakes add color I suppose, as there is no way they could impart other flavors in such a small supporting role.
The cut however, sucks. The pieces are hard unwieldy bark chips that are a pain to pack and create all sorts of hot spots (for your best results, use a wide bowl).
The full power punch of the blend and quality ingredients are easily identified as a McClelland mix. I was indeed happy to try this out before it went the way of the dinosaur, but I would rate this in the bottom half of their products I've tasted. Igniting these twigs takes some doing, but once lit, you get a rush of the candy goodness. My issue comes in a few minutes later when your buds gets numb to all the sugar and everything just gets to be too much in a redundant way.
I love aromatics, but this was just too sweet and I would imagine those who normally avoid them, will hate this one, as it never settled down to be a good sipper. Might be a good intro to those who like all the candy vaping flavors.

Another winner. From the genius mixologist. Tin opening is very pleasing caramel note. Lights up easy and burns cool. Taste is pretty strong with caramel and nuts. Very pleasant taste all through the smoke. The combination is very tasty and is another excellent all day smoke. One of the better aromatics out there.
