McGahey - Manaton Caramel.
This could be the stickiest tobacco the world's ever known! It's not soaked with only water, it's also the heavy topping that creates the sticky finish to the un-lit blend. Due to this though, if a full-on aromatic's your kind of smoke, this is what you want!
Because of the tacky topping, just airing it isn't enough to reduce the amount of moisture; the water evaporates, albeit, the caramel doesn't, so this requires assiduous use of the lighter and then regular maintenance once it's burning. Although this could be pictured as a negative point, the flavour and texture could be viewed a lot more positively: the caramel shines through with a blisteringly strong quality, it gives the smoke a sweetness which is unavoidable. As well as flavouring the smoke, it also thickens it; it's almost chewy! Another area that may be negatively pictured is the tobacco tastes... or lack of them; because the topping's so heavy it totally eradicates any tobacco nuances. The nicotine level is really mild in this, don't smoke this if you require a big dose.
Although I couldn't smoke this as a daytime blend; it's far too sweet, I enjoy an aromatic tobacco in the evening and it'd be great for colouring a Meer'; recommended.
Three stars.
