McGahey - Merryval Likrish.
The pouch note, and description had me ready for a blend that's reminiscent of cough syrup or something, there's no disputing the fact this has liquorice in it from the un-lit smell. The blend was a touch moist so it had to be dried a little prior to being smoked:
The liquorice comes through quite well in the smoke but it's nowhere near as toxic as I expected from the pouch's aroma. It's easy to notice, very easy, but it doesn't seem acrid, nor bitter; I was ready for something hugely astringent on my palate, but instead I get quite a clean taste of liquorice; strong but not too sickly.
I think, really, this can be summed up in one line: if you like liquorice you'll like this!
I however, don't like liquorice but I wouldn't give it one lonely star as it's better than that, I think two is fair.
Somewhat recommended.
