Alfie Turmeaus-Wavecrest.
The smell from the pouch has a good note of maple and the blend is all a medium brown in colour. The hydration is pretty good but considering it's not a sealed pouch but it has a fold over top some moisture may have abated in the few weeks it's been cellared.
In the smoke the maple isn't as potent as it was in the unlit pouch note, it's still a definite maple taste and not just some nondescript gloopy sweetness but it's not as strong as the aroma lead me to anticipate.
My bowl burns well for the duration of the smoke, I only really give it the occasional tamp.
At the start of the bowl it was a pleasure but after about ten minutes of smoking the tongue bite starts, and unless it's smoked very gently it can cause my tongue some hurt!
The nicotine is about medium, a good amount that would suit most smokers.
The room note is ok but it lacks much of the maple aromatic quality found in the flavour.
This would score a lot higher if it weren't for the bite, sadly that reduces it to two stars.
Somewhat recommended.
