A happily married, elderly gent who smoked his first pipeful of tobacco in 1968. I've never smoked cigarettes, cigars or weed - just pipe tobacco. I've never purposefully inhaled tobacco smoke as I was athletic, played semi-pro hockey, mountaineered from Patagonia to the Yukon Territories, competed in triathlons, and backpacked the mountain ranges of Western Canada, the Yukon and Western NWT. I also enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, shooting sports and photography. Since being run over by a drunk driver 20 years ago, my hobbies are limited to reading, studying technologies, writing, pondering the fate of western democracies, breathing and wheelchair design.
I enjoy briar pipes of all kinds (though not a collector) and good pipe tobacco blends free of casing, topping and other goop that dooms many a new piper to soggy pipes, horrific oral pH imbalance, and tongue incineration that often ruins the pipe smoking experience.
