About Me

I've been smoking a pipe since 2005. I am generally a neutralist in my ratings, due to the fact that half stars cannot be awarded. I tend to reserve my one star ratings for tobaccos that I find truly awful, and will give two stars to even quite bad tobaccos that I wouldn't choose to smoke again. Some tobaccos that get three stars I regard very highly, whilst others are just above average. During my past on tobacco reviews, I was fast and loose with my four star ratings, but these days I reserve them more for tobaccos I find truly outstanding.
I like English blends in the autumn & winter, preferring Virginias & Vapers in the spring (once it's warmed up) and summer. It doesn't always play out that way, though, if we have a mild winter, for example - with no real cold - I'll smoke Virginas in the winter, and vice-versa, if we have a summer with a dearth of sunshine, I may smoke Englishes (The British weather is very temperamental). Sometimes, I'll break my habit if the mood just strikes me.
Aromatics are the tobacco I smoke least of, although I do try them occasionally, as I don't want to miss a potentially magical blend.
I am a member of UKPTC (UK Pipe & Tobacco Club).
