I grew up in the jungles of Colombia... con sangre norte americano, pero corazon colombiano... only started smoking cigars occasionally around 10 years ago, and the pipe a bit more regularly maybe 4 years ago. Am still intentionally an occasional pipe smoker, but with a decent cellar of great tobaccos (many rated highly here), a few cheap pipes and several corn cobs, around a dozen estate pipes that all came from a friends grandfathers collection, accompanied by one David Jones custom briar. I may average a bowl a day, and then not at all for periods. English and Balkan blends such as Peretti's Royal Blend, Beck's Ol"limey Bastard, Peter Stokebye Balkan Supreme, and C&D Orient Express, and C&D Gas Light have been my favorite go-to's, but I have cellared a modest selection of virginias and english, and frankly I now find myself often preferring straight Virginia and Va/Per blends a lot of the time. SG's Best Brown flake, Orlik Golden Sliced, Capstan Blue, and GL Pease Fillmore are virginia flakes I thoroughly enjoy. I also occasionally delve into the land of Burley, but I've only been easing in, it was not naturally my taste preference at the start.
