I believe pipe smoking is a fine hobby rather than a 'habit', and enjoy all aspects of the hobby, from trying new blends to cleaning and maintaining my pipe collection. I tend to smoke more pipe tobacco in the autumn and winter. Just seems more relevant then for some reason.

Have flirted with pipe smoking for years and finally started taking it a little more seriously in 2011. Still smoke cigars and cigarettes (but only additive free these days) in small quantities, and not every day. I find my taste in tobacco changes or evolves every few months. I became really interested in pipe smoking as a result of full Cavendishs, but have gone through phases where nothing but a fine English blend, or orientals would do. My favourite tobaccos are Sunset Rum and Evening Stroll by Milan Tobaccanists, USA, which I have to import to Blighty. Impressed by some of Peterson's special aromatic blends, particularly Christmas 2011 and Special Reserve 2011. Bit pricey, as all smoking has become in the UK thanks to punitive taxing, but worth the extra. Also enjoy a good rum cavendish.
