| The pouch smell is mostly sweet virginia with a touch of latakia. The tobacco is a little moist so i like to let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to dry out a bit, after that i rub it out to a nice fluff to pack into the pipe.
The tobacco packs firmly so i use a lighter hand as i would on a virginia and pack a little less that i would for a full english. It takes a few relights to keep this blend going nicely but tamps down to a dark grey ash.
I would describe the flavor as musty-sweet, nutty, with a nice touch of latakia to keep it interseting, about half way the latakia becomes more prominant, and the blend picks up flavor.
Overall a very nice blend, which i will keep on hand for those times when in the comany of non pipe smokers but i want a nice english flavor.
Recomended

| This is a blend that is spicy in a way that lingers on my lips, but doesn't bite my tongue. It should be smoked slowly and deliberately. It would be easy to forget you were smoking it if you were wraped up in reading or some other pursuit, and would miss out on the subtleties of this light pleasant blend. There are several different Virginias somewhere behind the Latakia and Cavendish, and they poke their heads out occasionally throughout the bowl to make sure you haven't forgotten about them, but the overall strength of the blend does not waver much, and it doesn't suddenly go through the roof at the end of the bowl, like with many blends. However, it does develop a bit of an 'ashy' taste in the second half of the bowl, even without tamping or lighting to mix ash in with the tobacco. I enjoy this blend with both a cup of pekoe tea, or a single malt scotch, both of which seem to round out the flavors in the blend nicely.

| This is a great morning smoke. It's not heavy, is complex enough to be interesting and is, IMHO, what a "Latakia with Cavendish" should taste like. Rich and nutty to start, the flavor stays relatively consistent all the way to the bottom and it DGTs better than most Latakia blends do for me. I like to smoke this with a cup of strong British tea (brewed so strong a mouse could trot across the top and keep his toes dry!) as I read my morning's collection of posts in alt.smokers.pipes. It's got a nice mild spicy flavor that reminds me of holiday baking, fireplaces and the smoke from my dad's White Owl cigars emanating from the basement.
