| It's an extremely good English. There's not much I can say except "try it". If you are a fan of the Early Morning and you want something "Like but better", it's definitely a great choice.

| This was my first English blend and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Very complex and balanced but not overwhelming.

| An excellent tobacco. Similar to Nightcap, but a little lighter, drier, nutty and less oily. If you enjoy Nightcap this will be a nice alternative.

| Having tried, and by and large enjoyed, the main Gawith players in the English / Balkan arena, MM 965 is a welcome addition. The lightweight flavour/mouthfeel other reviewers mention doesn't bother me. There's a great balance in the mix, the aroma is pleasing and it is overall very user-friendly. A bit of a gentleman, in fact. If it could speak, I imagine it would say in a Leslie Phillips voice: "Well, heloo!" Four stars.

| I'm not much of a reviewer but I can't sit back and watch all these 4 star reviews of this crap. I've never had any of the Murray's only the Orlik Dunhill blends and this stuff is clearly the worst, in fact it is the only Dunhill blend that I don't love.
It's bland, boring, flavourless and harsh. It has nothing going on and is one of the all around most unsatisfying smokes I've ever had, I had to struggle to finish the tin. I've had 4noggins Owl's Head which is supposed to be a cheap "replacement" for the Murray's MM965 and its way better than this crap. It's pretty sad when a cheap knockoff is better than the real deal, Orlik really screwed up with this blend.
This stuff is a far below average English blend with a premium price tag, Dunhill should be ashamed to put their name on this crap.

| A great smoke in the proper English tradishion. If you enjoy Nightcap or Dunhill's Standard mixture, you'll enjoy this! Great smoke, absolute fulfillment. See it, buy it. Try it!

| Immaculate presentation, the ribbon cut smokes straight out the tin. Lovely aroma: wood smoke and peat with leathery notes.
The charring light is cool and the first few puffs are all about the Latakia. In fact the first half of the bowl is all about the Latakia in taste, aroma and coolness, with some spiciness and old leather in the background; which eventually becomes the predominant taste towards the end of the bowl. The blend tastes dry, very little sweetness from the Cavendish and a very different experience to an English blend with Virginia (imagine a cup of earl grey tea without milk and sugar).
I have experienced a strange mouth feel with this one... perhaps the ‘chemical taste’ that other reviews have noted, or maybe the lack of sweetness on my pallet?
It’s a good smoke, packed with Vitamin N which some might not like, but I can smoke first thing in the morning and all day long, but... it’s still not ‘My English’ (I think the orientals could be better) so the (happy) search goes on.

| I just don't get the ad copy and reviews that rate Dunhill's My Mixture 965 as strong and full-bodied, and I've tried it both tinned and bulk from different sources. Maybe it's my cigar background. No doubt it is a subtly tasty blend, different from the EMP/LM/NC tastes, and a staple among my stock, but I find it between Early Morning Pipe and London Mixture in strength and body -- more along the lines of Samuel Gawith's Squadron Leader. It's smooth and creamy. While some would say I'm nuts, I can smoke MM965 (or SL) as a wake-up pipe, where I don't like that with LM. On the other hand, LM can fill the after-dinner role for me (but I'd be missing Nightcap) where MM965 leaves me a bit unfulfilled in the evening. Again, that may be from my expectation of dark maduro cigars in the evening. As with other Dunhill ribbon cuts, packing is easy and not critical. It often burns to the bottom of the bowl on one light and burns cool unless abused. I'd definitely recommend it as a first pipe tobacco for someone coming from cigarettes or cigars.

| A very tasty tobacco. I especially like the flavor and aroma in the last half and the end of the bowl. It tastes rather nutty and toasty, somewhat like a Virginia/perique blend. Lots of oriental aroma and flavor. Sometimes perfume like. An extremely well rounded and balanced tobacco. Falls between EMP and London Mixture in strength and personal preference. Halfway into the bowl it develops the taste and strength that London Mixture has right out of the gate. LM's little brother.

| Cracked a 50g tin of this last summer and upon opening a rather strong smell of smokey indian came to mind. Perhaps a worn out old moccasin. A nice light brown ribbon cut that was somewhat damp was what I found inside. No drying time needed as it was perfect in moisture content. Went straight into the bowl with 1 charring light and the rest was smoooth sailin. Tamping it every 10 minutes while puffing with ease. She smoked cool, crisp and right on. From the beginning I could detect some rather rich oaky notes that once half way down the bowl turned into a mellow nuttiness with a hint of vanilla. Burned cool and clean right down to the last puff and left a small pile of white ash at the bottom. Overall a real good smoke with minimul effort to keep going and one that I will be keeping in stock for future times. Rating would be a 4 out of 5 star.

| My two cents here. Can't comment on the 'Orlik vs. Dunhill' debate. Never had the Dunhill. Still, pleasantly surprised. Mild and slightly sweet. Usually not a fan of Cavendish, but here it works.

| Short and sweet review: tobacco in ribbons, dark browns and blacks with a few bright highlights (oriental...). Tin note a little softer and sweeter than expected, but the Latakia dominates. Stuffs, lights and puffs easily, little maintenance. Taste is sweet for an English, without any sharpness. Very satisfying Lat quota.
All of that would make a three-star blend for me, were it not for one thing: I cannot imagine anything that could improve this blend. It's perfect. Fully mature recipe, not a single negative point in the entire experience.
I enjoy this alongside a Single Grain Highlands Whisky.

| Adding a review to this blend would be like adding a drop of blue coloring to the ocean. But, I'd like to get my tuppance worth in it. Orlik's, whoops I mean Dunhill's, My Mixture 965 is what English blends want to be when they grow up. It is a nicely packaged product. The tin art reminds me of the early 20th century tobacco tins. The tobacco inside is a nice golden color shot with black tobacco. The leaf comes the right moisture for smoking; I didn't need to dry it at all. Packing is easy with the cut. The light is easy and it tends to need little attention, maybe an extra match here or there. The flavor can indeed be full bodied. It is a strong, "manly man's" tobacco. But it's quite pleasing to the right smoker. Not as strong as "Nightcap" I'd say, though. Someone who has never had an English before would do well to avoid this. They should not lose their cherry on this one. Now, here's mouse dropping in the whipped cream: This has quite a nicotine kick. If you smoke this on an empty stomach and/or are not used the high dosage of the smoky mistress, Miss Nico, then you're going to be ill. Probably not vomiting ill, but you'll feel like you should for an hour and some change. This is the only reason I couldn't bring myself to give My Mixture 965 a full four stars. An excellent tobacco, but it has its dangers to some of us. Use your own discretion.

| Not a huge fan. Nice smoke but I'm not going to sing praises like everyone else, I don't think it's that great. My rating is not very high because I'm not a huge fan of Latakia.

| I would characterize this blend as having a rye bread and dry, woody/leather flavor. It is low on sweetness as compared to something like Dunhill's Standard Mixture. Packs and lights easily enough and out of the tin has an appropriate moisture level.
I'm don't think this is right in my wheelhouse but it's well-made and surely would fit some people's bills as a great tobacco.
