| I just tried this tobacco for the first time and find it to be wonderful. It truely is a tasty blend and well suited for its intended purpose, Early Morning Pipe. Goes well with my first cup of coffee in the morning. A great combo.

| I highly recommend the blend as I do any of the famous name blends among pipe tobaccos. And don't get me wrong I do enjoy it and it does share an affinity with coffee. My only problem is that I find that Squadron Leader fills this niche better for me.
With all of that said I have wonderful memories of looking out over the northwest Michigan woods this summer at my 80 acre retreat (deer camp) watching the sunrise after restoking last night's fire. With a cup of coffee in one hand and a pipefull of EMP in the other. I didn't pack any SL on that particular trip, but it didn't matter.
I don't know anything about this blend before Orlik, but I do like it as it is.

| As the title of this suggests, this makes a great, English, morning pipe. The taste is very light, but there and amazing. There is no tongue bite. The girlfriend usually compares the smell to a sweet bonfire.

| EMP is Nightcap without the punch...nare a jab to be seen here. Beautiful colors. Blondes with specs of browns & blacks, nice oriental scents with sweet Virginia's. Smoke required several delights despite near perfect moisture, very one- dimensional. It is good in the morning first thing, would be great English for new smokers, but just not enough ummph for me.

| For me, this one lived up to its hype. I really enjoy english/latakia blends early in the morning and this aptly named blend fits the bill perfectly.
Very nice balance of the virginias and latakia. The latakia was always present in a nice spicy, not overpowering way.
For comparison, I smoked this tin of EMP along with a tin of a cheaper, knockoff version of EMP. EMP was still a step above although the knockoff was a decent smoke itself.
I've got a tin of EMP in my basement I plan on cellaring for five years or so. Check back for an update.
In short: well worth a smoke for english lovers.

| Very, very good. A mild English, a very mild cousin to London Mixture. Excellent all day smoke. No epiphanies, but a solid work-a-day blend. It does awaken the palate, I'm craving the company of Tobie's bully boys at the end of the day (London Mixture, Royal Yacht, maybe even 1792 Flake, if I'm in the mood for a fight). I'll keep this one around, for certain. PS This one is much better with teas than coffees, IMhO

| After 280 something reviews Early Morning pipe really doesn't need another plug but I'm going to do it anyway.
This is an absolutely perfect smoke with your morning coffee. The room note is nothing to write home about but the taste and Vitamin N hit can't be beat.
I usually will open a new tin and let it sit with the lid off for about 30 minutes before smoking. Unlike some other favorites of mine it really doesn't need to air out for days before smoking.
I don't really consider it an all day smoke simply because it is so perfect in the morning and smoking it any other time just kind of cheapens the experience for me.
If you haven't tried Early Morning Pipe I'd get a tin from your local Tobacconist ASAP and enjoy!

| I wanted to be the slave of Dunhill marketing machine, I really tried. EMP in the morning and so on. Many reviewers call it "965's little brother". I love 965, but this comparison is totally out of place. Alas, this is not so successful brother. And not so little: it's nicotine push is on par with 965. But the taste is dull and too salty.
If I'll suddenly will find myself on some uninhabited island, I would be glad to find EMP tin. But until then, it's just not my cup of tea.
Update 09.13.2012: In meerschaum pipe it goes much better. I'm upgrading it from two to three stars.

| this baccy is just something else, good in the morning but great whenever, this tobacco with coffee is a pure dream that almost could border on confection, i find it smokes differently in an array of pipes but in the morning i like a big fat peterson donegal billiard, "because strange as this may sound" ive found that a bowl with a larger surface area gives a more complex flavour. as i smoke "slowly" i could almost swear i taste hot buttered seeded batch toast with a sliver of chrunchy peanut butter over top. the only tobacco that makes me salavate.

| I love EMP in the EM.
Nice first bowl with coffee or with out. Not a crowd-pleaser when it comes to room note or tin note, but I do not often smoke for others(life is a bit short for that). Light in the nicotine department but that's what I was expecting.

| This blend is definately in my top 5. Tastes great and smells terrific. It burned a bit hot for me but I tend to smoke too fast. Great smoke right out of the tin. This would be a fantastic all day smoke. Would highly recommend.

| Leaves a pungent and unpleasant taste. Ruined several good cups of coffee trying to enjoy this blend. SWMBO hates the sidestream aroma.

| Update 9/5/12. I originally had a long drawn out review praising this blend, but I'll update and say that EMP has become one of my favorites. Nearly no drying time. Packs evenly, smokes a bit warm, but BURNS FOREVER. This is the slowest burning blend on the market...I think. The flavor all the way around is simply wonderful, all the way to the last sip. This is not for beginners, but lovers of good English will surely enjoy it. I don't see Latakia listed in the blend, but I'd swear there is a little in there...not just Oriental. Regardless, if I could give this 5 stars, I would. Pure excellence.
Also, adding a little Nightcap to this is nice.

| Having finally decided to get round to smoking some Dunhill, I pulled this one out at random from their three and four star reviews on here to see what gives. So let's have a peek under the bonnet.
I don't often comment on the tin, but the art on this one is nice and bright, made me want to have breakfast properly up at the table with my boiled eggs and soldiers and all that before kicking back in the chair to read the paper to prepare for my journey to work. Eventually, having wrenched myself from the delicate artwork, I finally opened up the tin to be greeted by a decent tin aroma, a light tarry smell, reminiscent of SG's Squadron Leader. After easy packing and lighting, the flavour followed suit, a lighter version Squadron Leader. Towards the middle of the tin, as the tobacco dried out, the smoke did get a bit hacky, but rehydrating the remainder worked wonders on the subsequent smokes. The roomnote is isn't fantastic but doesn't turn anyones nose up.
So, not a bad tobacco, that tarry taste is nice, but doesn't have quite the subtlety or nuance that Squadron Leader. To be honest, though, this isn't the most memorable tobaccos I have ever had. Having finished a the tin, I've never thought, "Darn, I wish I had another tin of EMP", and I will probably buy SG's offering over this in future. But I have enjoyed smoking it while I've had it, which is what matters.

| I would have to say that EMB goes best with a cup of coffee 1st thing in the morning. It's now my ritual. I special enjoy the sweetness that comes through as you smoke the bowl down. A must!!!!!!
