This was my first Davidoff purchase and I was very impressed from the first bowl on. The Virginia shines under what I feel is a subtle aromatic. I know the tin I am smoking is old, but I have no idea exactly how old. It is a little bitey so patience should be administered. It has both a great side stream and room note making a great public smoke.

Just finishing up my tin, I have concluded it is my favortie aromatic to date.

I've bought some tins a few years ago in France, at the Paris airport duty free shop, and I've smoked the last bowl in December 2012. It's quite expensive, but at average price for selected tobaccoes. Good medium cut and moisture, with a half way between english mixtures (this is a bit more sweet and light) and aromatic danish aroma at opening.

Aroma: not strong, not bad, but nothing more. Not really aromatic, by me.

Taste: quite good, but it lacks something to be satisfying. Very little bitey, but... no real personality.

Room note: mild to tolerable, only sligthly sweet.

Burning: good. Just a little bit on the fast side, but OK.

Best Briars: common briars, not dedicated.

This tobacco is not bad, but, by me, surely not the best Davidoff available: i.e. Scottish Mixture (a good but not terrific mixture), is far better. I ask much more to a premium (and not cheap) trade-mark like Davidoff: two stars and half.

Let me start off by saying that I am smoking this as I'm writing the review. I could say this is not no ordinary aromatic. At first it burns rather hot then cools down somewhat. Not too much of a tongue bite. All in all its alright, the reason I only gave it 3 stars is because of the price. The price of this tobacco can be on the expensive side.

Please take this review with a grain of salt as I am a true foe of aromatics.

I bought this tobacco lured by the Davidoff name and because it was the favorite of a long gone but much admired and respected gent who was a keen pipe smoker. What a terrible disappointment!

On opening the tin, the aroma was not as strong as some other aromatics (e.g. Stanwell's Danish Blend) but it was pleasant. The tobacco was a bit humid but smokeable. However, I rubbed some of the thin long ribbon cut (not quite a shag as someone said) and let it air for some hours.

Lightly packing a disposable but well broken corncob I keep for trials, the smoke out of the charring light was thick and oily but almost totally flat. The note on my nose, instead of an enticing dessert suggested some burned out fruitcake.

The true light brought a fairly decent amount of smoke but less than a dozen draws on, the pipe started to gurgle. Please note that this is a cob that is truly resistant to gurgling even with the dampest fills, having a large "sump" beneath the stem.

The blend smokes fairly hot so it demands a very slow pace; even so, it bites like a mad Dobermann!

I'm extremely sorry to have gotten three tins of this to ease the post charges. Besides, the price is a true rip-off, just like some fashionable branded polo shirts that at $200 are cheaper made than a $25 Costco item.

I shall stay away from this. Will one of the four stars reviewers take two unopened tins in trade for a GLP Meridian one?

Funny how this is called Danish Mixture - cos it reminds me somewhat of sweetcure bacon. Its a very nice, well behaved light amd aromatic shag. Not sure it's quite worth the £15 price tag(cheapest I can find in the UK) but I will probably still replenish this when the time comes.

If I am going to smoke and aromatic, I want to smoke an aromatic. I did not taste much of anything with this blend. The tongue bite was pretty bad. I just couldn't get past the nothingness this tobacco gave me except for the pain on my tongue. For those that like english tobaccos to have a medium taste or an aromatic to taste like the flavoring - stay far away from this one.

I bought this only because the local tobacconist ran out of Royalty. At first I was a bit disappointed as I found it too sweet. Now that it has dried out a bit, it is more enjoyable and tastes of sultana and banana. The smell from the tin is also not as overpowering and notes of honey, nut, maple and chocolate can be detected. The room note is still somewhat sweet, but tolerable. It requires tamping more frequently compared to English mixture and and after a while it becomes gurgly and somewhat soapy\ashy although barely noticeable. I've blended this with some English mixture and found the taste more appealing and it produced less oil. All in all, it is good quality tobacco but does not satisfy entirely and there are probably better mixtures available at the same price.

This seems to be a copy (taste-wise) of Larsen's No. 50, with walnut/honey/maple hints, beautiful medium-brown ribbons of high tobacco quality. Very pleasant room note, though the smoking process itself is a bit boring, as the smoke doesn't really develop. Not to be confused with saucy, bitter-sweet aromatics (Planta) - this blend is subtle, delicate, elegant and gentle. Smoke it with patience, else it will bite. Not a fantastic tobacco, but a good "light aromatic". 3 of 5 stars

Hmmm. I am a new pipe smoker and this is the first tobacco I smoked. I don't know what to say about this tobacco. It burn pretty hot and is very easy to light. I didn't have to relight even once, but I get that "soapy" taste. And the taste is pretty bland for my taste. I have been a cigar smoker for a few months and was expecting a lot, for I like Davidoff cigars. I don't know whether this was aromatic or not but I couldn't detect any smell when I was smoking. The tin smelled like a fruit cake, which I somewhat I liked.

AS expected from Davidoff, the Danish Mixture is a very pleasent blend, i tried alot of blends including Blue Mixture, Captain Black (Light, Gold, White,Royal) Erin Moore, Prince Alber and Royal Comfort as an example, but found Danish Mixture is the best. My wife likes its room note too much. The first time you open the tin you will be astonished of the gratifying scent. My opinion is that Danish Mixture is not a whole day smoke, i prefer to smoke it while reading my favourite books, for relaxation.

Difficult to pack. The first time I tried this, I had to repack my pipe a couple of times before I got it right. I tended to end up with my pipe packed too tightly. Could it have been too moist straight out of the tin?

I can't get this tobacco to burn smoothly, but it tastes terrific, and it needs a large bowl. (It tends to fall flat in a smaller bowl). The taste is somewhat sweet, definitely fresh and fruity.

One of my favourite sweet blends.

Mild aromatic composed of high quality Cavendish mixed with lemon Virginias. I usually try to relate the taste of aromatics to everyday tastes and aromas, but this one doesn't fit any comparison. Almost no tongue bite for an aromatic, easy to pack and smoke. Anyway, it doesn't fall into my top rated aromatics, mostly because it's a little bitter towards the end of the bowl.

3 stars for quality, 2 for personal taste.

Top quality tobacco as you'd expect from Davidoff.

Oh boy, is it expensive or what ? Nearly £14 for 50g.

Is it worth it ? Well yes I think it probably is.

Superb tin aroma as other reviewers have said. It's a little on the dry side and comes in a round tin with a round paper cover that even has a thumb/finger shapre pressed in it for ease of access. All this topped off with the usual ruff.

It's golden brown and so dry I had to dig it out with a pipe tool. A little rubbing then it's ready to load. Delicate touch here will reward you with a fine lengthy smoke that needs few relights.

Taste (inevitably) doesn't reflect the opening tin aroma, but it's still quite sweet with a mild subtle taste. Some of these Danish blends can be a little harsh and bitey, but this one is unlikely to bite unless your'e a demon puffer.

Well worth a try if you're into aromatics and feeling a little flush, and well worth having in your collection.

Indeed I expected just a bit more from Davidoff, but it is great tobacco none the less. When I read danish mixture I expected something more like WO Larsen, but this seemed a bit stronger and more tobaccoey in taste, a fact witch I liked very much. It seemed to me that VAs are dominatig this blend. (A fact that makes me like it more)

The smell when you open the tin, fulfill your house. It's so sweet that can make you sick. But it's high quality tobacco. A good choice to the summer. I can't smoke it during the winter, don't know why. Smells like mapple syrup, brought me good memories from the time I spent in Canada. Sadlly, you don't find that in the smoke. This is a tobacco that doesn't make my wife complain, what is a good think to say about the room note. Weel cutted. Tends to burn hot, but no thongue bite. Worth a try, but I doubt you'll smoke it every day.

I'm sorry to begin my first review on a negative note, but this was a huge disappointment. I bought a tin from an official Davidoff retailer, so I guess that issues of proper storage don't get into it. Fact is, only one word that I know describes this blend, and it's the french "écoeurant". Confronted with Davidoff Danish Mixture, I encountered the same problem I had some time ago with Amphora tobaccos: the smell of the casing is heavy, sticky, sweet and artificial, and it borders on disgusting. I'm trying to get around this by letting it air a lot in a faraway room (even if it's pretty dry from the beginning). Smoked outside it allows for pleasant moments, all in all; indoors it develops an oversweet cloud that satiates your senses way before the bowl is over. Perhaps it's me, but I can't seem to find a way to get on the wavelenght of these tobaccos. Gimme natural virginia any time... When I think that I could have bought a tin of 965 for about the same price, I feel like kicking my own derrière.
