This near perfect blend reminds me of Penzance without the hard edged Latakia right off the bat (Don't get me wrong, I love Penzance but this is better and smoother). The taste is complex, with a smooth Latakia note throughout the bowl, at the same time allowing the other components their time in the spotlight. The Virginas, Perique and Orientals each take their turn, so your get a good sense of all of them as you smoke down the bowl. Best, in my opinion, in a small to medium sized bowl, because it is a bit wet right out of the can. This is because of the cut - a flake and crumble cake mix, sort of. I have never seen anything like it. I guess it looks like actual Plum Pudding in a way. I normally do not rub out flakes but this one you have to in order to keep it lit. I have introduced this blend to several others and it has become a big hit. By far my favorite Balkin-style blend - even though it is in short supply. It's simply a delight! Highly recommended.
