This is a blockbuster flake. I have never been a fan of Cornell and Diehl blends, but they have hit a home run in my opinion. The quality is exceptional and the taste is beyond compare. This is the finest flake I have ever smoked. The golden virginia is biteless and the perique is not overpowering, with the turkish adding a wonderful taste that seems to bind it all together. There is a light flavoring, which adds to the pleasure but is not tiring. This mixture burns cool and slightly sweet to the bottom of the bowl. After smoking this tobacco, I'd like to downgrade most of the other blend I've rated 4stars on this site. Congratulations to Cornell and Diehl. I'm surprised that I'm only the third reviewer of Sunday Picnic. But all three of us have concurred on this fine product.

Update: After smoking a tin of this excellent flake, I am downgrading to 3 stars, only because it lacks the nuance of flavors necessary in a 4 star mixture. Very one-dimensional, but still very good.

This is by far the best flake I have ever smoked! The perque gives just enough zest but does not over power the smoke . this is a cool dry smoke but never got hot stayed mild I love this blend and will keep planty on hand .I Highly recomend this to one and all.

***See my review of Interlude for Tin and insert review.*** This one is by far my favorite of the flakes I have tried. First, they seem to hold their shape in the tin. These present a pretty Gold Flake, and the smell of sweet grassy hay comes out. Fold and stuff again.....On light, there is that Fresh cut sweet hay smell and flavor.....there is a light spice, like a hint of spiced figs mixed in. The strength is not as powerful here as interlude, but it's easier on the taste buds. More comfortable smoke. Like a mystery movie vs Interludes Action. Again I did two flakes at a time, and it lasted about 2 hours. Burned clean and tasted great. Of the three I have tried, this is my favorite.
