| This aromatic delivers where it's cousin, Sweet Killarney does not.
The aroma from the tin is of sweet almonds which shows through in the room note as well. On the palate it's joined by a caramel flavor as well.
Like many aromatics, for me it seemed to turn towards bitter as I neared the middle of the bowl. Forget about smoking to the bottom- way too hot for my tongue and palate.
That said, if a great smelling aromatic is what you're looking for this one has some finesse. --------------- Rethinking this post, not only have I moved away from aromatics, but I feel that Killarney was hard to keep lit. Have to pull a star...but who cares, since this is all quite subjective anyway? Cheers.

| My savinelli rustic was chosen to try Sunset Breeze. The shape and size I liked of the . It fit well in my hand. One thing I noted about this pipe was the way they made the bowl bottom flat it stands up with out a stand witch I really like. So opened the Sunset Breeze. Wow! the Amaretto aroma of this was wonderful So i packed my savinelli and lit the bowl. The taste was wonderful. Nice a nutty sweet flavor with a hint of Amaretto, cool smoke and no bite at all. I was able to smoke it without the bowl getting hot at all, warn to the touch but thats all. It drew nice and easy and the smoke was cool and full. I really enjoyed trying this blend. The Aroma was nice and light and was most pleaseing and stayed in the the room awhile. without being over powering. If you have Not tried this blend. it a most try in my veiw. My wife loved the room note, POINTS! May your pipe always smoke smooth Jimmy

| The tin aroma is definitively amaretto. I spent extensive amounts of time just smelling the tin.
This is obviously a high quality product. But I am too experienced to smoke such a tobacco.
This is better suited for the beginner seeking a high quality cased tobacco. For them I highly recommend it.
Salty dogs like myself should avoid it.

| I'm fairly new to the pipe, and have been smoking quite a few aromatics, but I've found that their flavors are often overwhelming and they often have quite a bit of bite. Neither one is an issue with Sunset Breeze.
Right out of the tin, the aroma is quite strong, but once lit, there is a pleasing bouquet of background flavor that never overwhelms the fantastic burley and virginia flavors.
Lights easy, smokes cool, tastes fantastic. The room note is also very nice. I think I just found my new standby aromatic. If you're an aromatic smoker looking to work your way to virginias, this is a must. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.

| I have been overall pleased with the quality, flavor and room note of Peterson blends and Sunset Breeze is no exception. In fact this might be my favorite Peterson aromatic I’ve tried thus far. This smoke is top notch. The tin is a bit moist like most Peterson tobacco tins, but after about 3o minutes of drying it was perfect. I also scored big and found this tin at a local tobacco shop that rarely sells tins, and this one had been sitting for exactly 2 years on the shelf! Just enough time to mellow out. The tin aroma is great with a non overpowering amaretto smell with a vanilla/carmel finish.
Sunset Breeze burns nice and slow and the room note is wonderful, my wife even commented that she enjoys the smell of this one. The burley gives this smoke a very well rounded and mellow taste. It also smokes extremely cool (again I attribute this to time left to dry out a bit) and leaves my pipes surprisingly dry. I highly recommend this Burley, Black cavendish, Virginia mix. Happy Smoking.

| mmm... I just love this stuff. My favourite of the Peterson aromatics. You really get the Amaretto from the tin through the bowl and it is a very civilised after dinner smoke. It remains a mystery to me how Peterson can get this so right and get something like the Sweet Killarney so wrong.

| This is my first review. I have only been smoking a pipe for a little over a year, but since I had never found an aromatic that didn't bite the heck out of my tounge or leave my bowl a goopy mess, aromatics were not to be in my rotation.
So I quickly developed a penchant for English blends and vapers.
I tried Sunset Breeze on a whim after reading the reviews. I was already odering 6 tins of Old Dublin to cellar, and I had them throw in a tin of Sunset Breeze.
Upon opening the tin, I did not really pick up Amaretto, but it was very pleasant. I picked up dried apricots and the natural smells of he Virginias and Cavendish. It was a little on the moist side, so a 10 minute rest was in order.
It lit easily, but still required 2 more lights throughout the bowl. The room note was wonderful - no wife chaser here. It burned to a nice white/grey ash all the way to the bottom. Sunset Breeze burned clean in the bowl and not one time have I ever experienced any tounge bite no matter how hard I puffed.
I never had a blend I called "my aromatic" but this is it. I have 6 tins on order to cellar. This is just a very nice blend.

| As I have done many times before, and as I will continue to do, I will review and rate this tobacco as what it was intended and marketed for; an aromatic.
With that being said, what a wonderful surprise! I was very sceptical when I read the description on the tin, but I figured I could not knock it until I tried it. I am not an aromatic smoker, but being a fan of Peterson pipes, and their other blends I figured I would give this one a shot.
Upon opening the tin I was greeted with a whole lot of amaretto and what I could have sworn was a faint cherry. The first thing that came to mind (after oh God what did I waste my money on?) was an Amaretto Sour. The tin aroma was gorgeous don't get me wrong, but just about every other experience that started out this way ended with a very bad case of tongue bite and a week of cleaning my pipe.
Defiantly not the case with Sunset Breeze. Right out of the tin I was surprised to find the tobacco extremely dry for an aromatic. The texture was very refreshing. It loaded easily into a Peterson 313, and behaved its self throughout the duration of the smoke.
The first light was an interesting sweet nutty amaretto goodness with an even more delightful full Virginia back bone. The thing that surprised me the most was the wonderful room note this blend emitted while allowing me, the smoker to enjoy a very delicate VA leaf.
Some have indicated that the aroma does not carry over to the smoke, and while this is true I do not find it to be a fault. I like to think of this as an "under cover" tobacco. One can appease the noses of passer-byes and the wife, but still enjoy a full, grown up VA tobacco.
I found the flavour to be just right. The sweet amaretto seemed to carry just enough through the smoke to compliment the naturally sweet VA leaf used in this blend.
I was also incredibly surprised to find that no matter how quickly I puffed away at this little treat, I never once got nipped. It is like the playful puppy dog that no matter how much you annoy him, he just comes back for more, each time gentler and gentler.
Another re-leaving factor in this blend was that it burned down to a perfect white ash leaving no soupy mess in my bowl.
The strength left a little to be desired, but then again it is not advertised to be a heavy hitter, therefore I can not fault it on this front.
I enjoy this blend mostly in the spring time early in the morning when the dew is still nestling on the leaves. It goes very well with an English breakfast tea, or at lunch with a Belgian style Whit beer.
I would recommend this tobacco to anyone who enjoys a drier more subtle aromatic. I would also say if you were entering the world of Virginia tobaccos, this might give you a gentle nudge in the right direction.

| As stated elsewhere, this is undoubtedly one of the best aromatics around today. For too long, I made the mistake of judging a book by its cover, and ignoring this tobacco because of its super cheesy name, which to me sounds more like some coconut sun blocker. But truly, what's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and if Sunset Breeze were called Crapomatic, it would still be among the best tobaccos on the market.
For my part, the primary attribute of this weed that allows it to surpass the myriad of other aromatics to be had is the absolute lack of tongue bite: No small feat for an aromatic, whose ingredients are usually a straight receipe for creating nothing but bite. This lack of bite allows one to actually TASTE the flavors intended to be experienced, in this case, sweet arametto balanced with fine, mild tobaccos. One does not overpower the other. There are no issues with lighting. No issues with moisture, at least in my opinion.
So-called purists may balk at the toppings, repeating the tired adages regarding just what a real tobacco is meant to be, but in truth, a real tobacco is meant to taste good and be enjoyable to those who partake, and Peterson's Sunset Breeze certainly does and is. Let the purists scoff: more of it for us!

| This has to be one of the best aromatics available! I'm not much of an aromatic smoker any more, but this is one I'll come back to when I'm in the mood.
In the tin, this tobacco smells only of its casing. It's amaretto, a nice twist on the cherry cavendish idea. It packs easily in any pipe, and lights without fuss. It can get hot if pushed too hard, but because this burns so well you really have to push it hard to get it hot.
The nice thing with this tobacco is that, while being an aromatic (and thus pleasing to those around you), this tobacco has a nice tobacco flavor. You can taste the high-quality virginias and burleys that provide the base for this blend. The flavor isn't strong by any means, but it beats most other aromatics I've tried where the casing (or the goopy cavendish) overpowers the tobacco.
Highly recommended for non-aromatic smokers who find themselves in social situations where they need to smoke something more tolerable.

| Another one of my favorites, this one has a bright fruity taste which, ironically, makes it a good morning tobacco. The flavor and scent are both somewhat fruity, but not a dark fruit like Connoisseur's Choice, something lighter, like berries. An all-around pleasing aromatic that doesn't burn too hot if smoked properly and leaves behind nothing but ash in the bowl.

| This tobacco has me split down the middle. Whilst I love the smell, it reminds me of marzipan on the top of a christmas cake. I am afraid the jury is still out on the taste. As a relative new pipe smoker I ordered this together with a tin of Connoisseurs Choice. That has all gone and have ordered another tin, this one I am still getting through. That tells me something. If I were to compare the two side by side with this being the marzipan topping Connoisseurs choice would be the fruit cake. But to me that wonderful almond flavour doesnt follow through to the taste buds. Whereas CC the fruitiness can be detected on the tongue.
I cant fault the quality of the leaf, it packs well, burns well and has a lovely aroma. To me all those qualities, and forgive the pun, go up in smoke when compared to the much more flavoured Connoisseurs Choice.
Will I buy another tin? maybe one day when I have forgotten what it tastes like. But for now CC is my aro of choice. Must admit though that I am finding Virginia flakes much more satisfying and am gravitating to those as my favourite tobaccos.

| A fine aromatic offering all that one would want in an aromatic. I tried it in a Stanwell "Anderson", took it at an even pace and found no negatives. My tin was not too wet at all and a plug thumbed into place as well as any blend. When you tire of the hype of the non-aromatics then try Sunset Breeze...for it is perfectly named.

| 2010-01 Putting 1 more star. The bitter in throat was because my pipe was not absolutely clean after previous tobacco. Now I like this blend very mutch. Its my currently prefered aromatic.
2009-12 First of all I dont like too mutch flawored tobaccos. After the first puff I sensed a smell of vanilla only, and that disapointed me a little bit, I was afraid it will become overwhelming, but later I sensed another aromats and that changed my mind. The vanilla was still there, but the tobacco taste emerged and dissapeared after each few puffs. The third arromat begins to emerge and little by little dominate over the vanilla and tobacco. I was trying to get what aromat it is, but couldn't recall it. But then an idea commes to my mind - this is wine! The smell is the same as in the moment when you open a bottle of wine. A little bit sour and with nuanses of a mould. After the smoking I began to sense the wine taste in my mouth too!
This is very interesting experience. The aromats associated with some colors in my mind: light yellow - vanilla; black/brown - tobacco; red - wine. The collors was playing in my mind drawing interesting pictures and actualy the picture on the tin was quite simmilar to it ;)
Negative sides of this tobacco is that it burns very difficult; I had to relight it with 4 or 6 times. And a little bitter in the throat due of suspected unnatural ingredients in the tobacco.
Still it is very interesting and unusual blend! I will try it next time too :)

| I don't like Amaretto - it is too sickly sweet for me. I love this tobacco though! The Amaretto taste is not overly sweet or overwhelming. There is some caramel in there too.
The room note is fantastic and will garner tons of compliments. Lucky bystanders will get to smell caramel, baked goodies and a hint of almonds. Yet, it has some kind of fresh note too. It is both warm and fresh. Sunset Breeze is an apt name. This is one of those tobaccos where I exit and re-enter the room several times during a smoke just to enjoy the room note.
I can still remember how this tobacco bit me, even when smoking very slowly, when I first took up the pipe. Nowadays there is no bite - just a very definite mouth feel, which actually contributes to the smoking experience. Just shows how mouth chemistry adapts with time.
In conclusion, a very nice Virginia, Burley and Black Cav aromatic, if you like aromatics. It does smoke a bit hot though, and for this reason I give it 3 and not 4 stars.

| Nah... Sorry.
After all the pomp and ceremony about this one being Petersons better efforts at an aro, well, I'm just not convinced.
I like Ameretto, the tin aroma is wonderfully pungent, strong and promises a lot up front, seemingly at ease with it's reputation as earnt from other tobacco adventurers before me..
However, as far as I'm concerned this pleasant aroma doesn't translate as well (if at all) into the smoke, neither for that matter in the room note either if I'm honest. I detected VERY weak overtones of this aro as it reached the end of it's recyling process of the senses, during each 4 second draw that made up my half-hour's afternoon toke.
This one does smoke a wee bit on the warm side (and I'm a sipper) and it tastes more chemically artificial than most of it's stable brothers that I've tried from Peterson. It's ok, but I won't buy another. 'Connoissours Choice' is a much better option IMO.
Still, it's for you to decide not me...

| Im quite new to the pipe and have only tried 5-6 types of tobacco so far, so... anyway, this tobacco to me is definatly not an all-day smoke, its much better apreciated at the end of a long day sat infront of the T.V with a glass of Disaronno by your side, bliss. That being said it doesnt seem to satisfy the nicotine side of things too much, but for someone who smokes simply for the taste then its a real good relaxing smoke. This hasn't bit me once and burns quite cool for an aromatic, I cant really comment on the strengh of the flavour as every bowl full i'v had has been acompanied by a glass of amaretto liqueur, but the wife (non smoker) comented on how much the smoke smells like amaretto, so it scores points there. I give this 3 out of 4, simply because it doesnt have enough nicotine for me but otherwise, i love it. like i said, its a night time smoke before bed.
