| One of the best Drug Store blends ever....One of the blends that got me started many years ago...Sadly it has been discontinued, and once what's out there is gone, there will be no more. Get some while you still can. You won't be sorry.
As someone else said, this one does it's best work in a cob.
I've got four Mason quart jars packed full of this stuff, guess it'll have to last.....

| I had always been curious about this blend, but must admit to initially being frightened of the prospect of trying it after I read on the back of the package that it was manufactured by the Sutliff Tobacco Company. My fear was borne of a VERY unpleasant experience with their Mixture No. 79, but that's another story.
What finally inspired me to purchase a package ("Buy 1 pouch Get 1 free") of this blend was a review of it by William Serad that appeared in a back issue of "Pipes and Tobaccos" magazine. Mr. Serad sampled it AND Mixture No. 79 in the same article and yet somehow survived to write about the experience, so I took the plunge.
Wow, was I pleasantly surprised! This is good tobacco. The pouch aroma is mild, dryly bourbony-sweet, and luscious. The component tobaccos are described as coming from "...Europe, Africa, North and South America...," and are Cavendish cut with shorter strands mixed in. The moisture level is ideal, and the tobacco did not require any drying in order to smoke well.
The smoke itself was very full and tasty, and puff as hard as I might I could not get this blend to bite. The room note was pleasant and, interestingly, short-lived. This tobacco burns well to a fine ash with no dottle, provided pipe-cleaners are judiciously used throughout the smoke.
Don't let the Sutliff name on the package scare you, too. They should get a prize for this truly Masterful blend. Highly recommended!

| It's getting hard to find this tobacco, but if you do you will be pleasently surprized. Mellow Burleys and a small amount of Maryland leaf make up this aromatic mixture which is an absolute Cavendish in all respects. Mild and sweet, but not sticky sweet, the smoke is relaxing and tasty. Leaves the pipe in good order, and not gooped up.Not bad,not bad at all.

| The best tobacco I ever smoked- rich, essential, beautiful scent, provides deep feeling of pleasure. The taste is strong and dry (in the same meaning in which wine can be dry), the scent is like an insence.

| This used to be sold as Old Overholt mixture. It is a decent blend of Va and Burley, flavored with booze (and some sweetener). As a devout aromatic hater, I should despise this, but oddly enough, find it pleasant for a change of pace. It is not excessively sweet, smokes cool and dry, and does not leave too much residual flavor in your pipe. Of course, it really shines in a cob, and I keep several just for this blend. Great outdoors, also good while driving, as the nicotine conent is not high.
