Yeah, this is the same stuff that Fincks was giving away if you paid the shipping. One pound for $3.95. It regularly sells for about $11.00 a pound. It appears to me to be 80% blond/yellow Virginias with 20% darker burley- all cavendish processed in the Danish style. The bag aroma is not all that great, though, and it seems to be flavored with something more than the usual "honey and sugar combo" most Danish aromatics are flavored with. It packs well and is in a ribbon cut. It lights very easily and is one of the coolest smoking blends in the pipe of this style of tobacco. The blend does bite, however. The quality of the tobacco is not up to par with Peter Stokkebyes other premium blends, which might be why this is the value blend. The flavor is very sweet, with this certain odd note that I can't figure out. It might be a hint of vanilla. It burns to a mottled gray/black ash. Overall, this blend is perfect for getting the old taste out of estate pipes and swapping them to other Danish style aromatics (my favorite being Mac Baren Virginia #1). As a regular, all day type of blend, I can't see it. Pricewise, it's fantastic but the bite, ash and odd topping detract big time.
