Kentucky is a condimental factor of the same league of Latakia and Perique, good for giving character and strength to any blend.

The tin aroma is profound of roasted coffee and chocolate, mature, sweet (not in the sense of confectionery) and smokey. Dark brown ribbons, perfect humidity.

For the purpose of this review I'm smoking it straight, by a medium-small bowled straight Dunhill Cumberland. Easy packing and lighting, Kentucky starts as a medium-to-strong smoke evolving to the full strength as the second third of the bowl is reached. The smoke is absolutely smooth and dry, musty and spicy of bitter chocolate; non bitey, it reveals all the contents in vitamin-N, and you know where your stomach is exactly placed in your belly... but never overwhelmingly as an Irish Flake do; the throat is just touched a bit. The last third needs calm and commitment. It's going to be seriously strong, woodsy and meaty. The body remains wonderfully balanced and smooth. To the nostril I now pick the same sensations which came from the tin aroma. OK, this Kentucky is meant for mixing, but my experience with this straight Kentucky by Torben Dansk has been just enthusiastic.

The rest of the tin has been tested in several contexts, from straight Va's to VaB. I've experienced a nice mix I would suggest to the TR Community: Skandinavik Regular (2/5), Dark Fragrant (2/5), Kentucky (1/5).
